Hüningsbusch - Megalithic Tomb near Seelvitz

Hüningsbusch - Megalithic Tomb near Seelvitz

Zirkow

The "Hüningsbusch" megalithic tomb is located in the southeastern part of the island of Rügel, along with numerous other megalithic tombs. The “Hüningsbusch,” a megalithic tomb near Seelvitz, belongs to the Funnel Beaker Culture type of large dolmen with a vestibule. The tomb is surrounded by other megalithic tombs, all of which are located in a region rich in megalithic tombs in the southeastern part of the island of Rügen. One of the damaged capstones, as well as a wall stone, revealed several small bowls on the surface. The 1970 excavation conducted by Adolf Hollnagel revealed that the burial chamber of the east-west-oriented, trapezoidal megalithic tomb had been severely disturbed. Several finds, such as amber beads, axes, cross-cutters, and other flint tools, as well as pottery shards, bones, and a hand millstone, were uncovered from the burial chamber. Torgelow Smelting Plant

Torgelow Smelting Plant

Torgelow

The Torgelow Smelter Site is an industrial heritage center. It is an industrial archaeology center dedicated to the first West Pomeranian blast furnace, built in 1754, which smelted the bog iron ore found in the surrounding area. Particularly worth seeing are the bell tower (circa 1790), former residential buildings (circa 1755)—the manager’s house and the “Vollgold” villa, the last surviving drinking water well of the former smelter, and the Uecker Lock (now a simple river weir).

Ihlenfeldts Bakery Fürstenwerder

Nordwestuckermark

We offer you what you expect from an artisan bakery:-individual regional products-credibility, reliability and serviceWith us you get something unique, artisan products that are not available in the supermarket. In the age of industrial food production, much of our supermarket food is treated with additives that have already caused health problems for many people. We offer you bread and other baked goods every day: - of high nutritional value - without chemical additives - of great flavor - with our own individual recipes - with traditional sourdough Rye flour and rye meal are acidified with the help of traditional artisan sourdough. This biochemical souring process produces a certain ratio of lactic acid, acetic acid and yeasts, which are able to ferment the rye flour and make it suitable for baking and digestion. No chemical acids or other baking aids need to be added to this bread. Cakes and desserts The basis for this are bases made from sponge cake mix (without a leavening paste, traditionally hot and cold whipped). We use a light "German cream" based on vanilla custard and butter.

Ina Anett Schulenburg | Natural Soap Manufactory in Kückenshagen

Kückenshagen

Finest natural soaps in an unmistakable design I have been producing the finest natural soaps with passion and care in my small manufactory in idyllic Mecklenburg-Vorpommern for many years. Naturalness and aesthetics are particularly important to me - my aim is therefore not only to pamper the skin and fragrance, but also to please the eye with an appealing design. With a few marked exceptions, I only use plant-based, mineral and food-safe raw materials. Wherever possible, I use essential oils. All my products are of course free from palm oil, and the packaging is made of paper and reduced to the bare essentials. Each bar of soap is lovingly handcrafted, goes through each production step manually and is made in small batches. This is why you can only buy my soaps directly from me at artisan markets or in the online store.

Inca

Inca

Bergen auf Rügen

Inka's art is repeatedly praised by viewers for the positive, soothing aura that the individual works have. Vibrant colors, lightness and brilliance characterize Inka's paintings. Inka's art is known for this in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Tokyo, Miami and at www.Galerie-Inka.de. Inka's art is repeatedly praised by viewers for the positive, soothing aura that the individual works have. Vibrant colors, lightness and brilliance characterize Inka's paintings. The viewer is immediately drawn into a world of joie de vivre, flowing energy, power and dancing colors. This world of joy invites you to be touched, to be infected by its lightness, to linger in its brilliance. And this is exactly how one visitor described it at the vernissage on March 2 at the Bergen City Museum on Rügen, where the solo show "Inca: Retrospective of Half a Century" runs until May 28, 2024: "I went straight home after the vernissage and did nothing else there but sit quietly on a chair and enjoy these wonderful energies that I had soaked up from your pictures." The fact that Inka's artworks usually have an uplifting effect is partly due to the clear, strong colors. On the other hand, it is also due to the fact that Inka connects herself with positive, healing forces during the painting process and thus impregnates these energies into her works. For Inka, painting is an act of joy, sensuality and gratitude. Inka's works have been shown in 56 exhibitions in Germany, Switzerland and Italy, as well as in the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum and at the ARTBOX Project Miami 3.0. At KUNST:OFFEN 2024, Inka is participating in the collective exhibition at St. Spiritus in Greifswald, as well as at the Bergen City Museum. Inka's studio is also open all year round for interested parties by appointment. Please send your request to info@galerie-inka.de

Vilm Island

Vilm Island

Vilm

Vilm, the small sister island of Rügen, which is only a few hectares in size, is known for its gnarled oaks and sunrises, which captivated Caspar David Friedrich and Philipp Otto Runge. They walked the island together and wrote letters to Goethe about its beauty. Around 6,000 years ago, the 94-hectare island of Vilm was formed from moraines left behind by glaciers. It is still an untouched natural paradise today. Forests of ancient oaks and giant beeches characterize the landscape. The beginning of settlement on Vilm can be traced back to the Stone Age. Once a holy place of the Slavs, later a Christian pilgrimage site and medieval hermitage, a princely summer residence in the 19th century and soon after a meeting place for landscape painters - Vilm has always exerted a great attraction. This is probably most evident in painting. Over the last 200 years, the island has been visited by over 350 painters. The entire island has been a nature reserve since 1936. Guided tours of Vilm Island take place from the end of March to the end of October. Daily at 10 a.m. and a second guided tour from 1.30 p.m. if required. The starting point is the port of Lauterbach. The motorboat "Julchen" will take you to the island of Vilm. The excursion leads partly through rough terrain and covers a distance of 3 kilometers. The outward and return journeys take 15 minutes each. The guided tour lasts 2.5 hours. The participation fee must be paid in cash and on the day of the tour on the motorboat "Julchen". Payment by EC card is not possible. Important: Unauthorized access to the island and taking animals with you is prohibited. Due to the limited number of participants, pre-registration is essential.

Jasmund Bodden

The vastness of the Great Jasmund Bodden, the picturesque sunrises and sunsets, the mirror-smooth sea in calm weather and the spray driven by the storm, the reed belts and forests around the Bodden have always attracted nature lovers and romantics. These depictions can be found in many drawings and paintings by the Romantics. The Small and the Great Jasmund Bodden belong to the North Rügen waters. The Bodden water is hardly salty and is considered a true angler's paradise. Both bodies of water are popular with locals and tourists for swimming and sailing. With an area of around 60 square kilometers, the Great Jasmund Bodden is one of the largest bodden waters in the Baltic Sea. There is a very varied cycle tour around the Little Jasmund Bodden. St. John's Church in Mirow

St. John's Church in Mirow

Mirow

The church, which houses the princely crypt, was built in the 14th century. The Church of St. John was dedicated to John the Baptist. Today, the eastern apse and the foundation walls with their Gothic windows are still visible. There are no records of damage sustained during the Thirty Years’ War, but at the end of the war, the church became the property of the principality. On September 4, 1742, the church was completely destroyed by fire after being struck by lightning. The church was rededicated on the first Sunday of Advent. A Baroque altar now serves as the focal point of the princely castle church. For €3.00, you can begin your ascent to lofty heights. The first floor features a small exhibition on the history of the Knights of St. John, which began in 1226. It traces the history of the Mirow Commandery up to the Reformation. It also illustrates how pastoral care was later provided within the Order of St. John and offers a glimpse into the future. If you climb a wooden staircase, you’ll reach a room that hosts small, rotating exhibitions. If you climb another flight of stairs, you’ll reach the belfry. Continue up the stairs, and you’ll arrive beneath the observation deck. There, the association has set up a small exhibition with interesting information on the history of the church and the association’s work. The final steps of the metal spiral staircase lead to the observation deck. From there, you have a sweeping view of the waters surrounding Mirow.
