Kunsthof Bad Doberan e. V. has been exhibiting art and handicrafts for almost 15 years now. Since November 2009, artists, craftspeople and hobby artists have been gathered here under one roof. Here you will find a particularly large selection and variety of paintings, graphics and handicrafts. The concept of renting exhibition space to artists and craftspeople as well as hobby artists and making it available for presentation and sale has been implemented by a registered association since the beginning of 2021. The costs are shared and the store management is also a joint effort. Incidentally, the association members are themselves creative minds and exhibitors from the Kunsthof team. This means that the "Kunsthof" is both a gallery with free admission and a store. The Kunsthof team can also build on very good cooperation and solidarity with various partners from Bad Doberan and the region, as exhibitors are always allowed to present and sell their work at the partners' stores. Around 40 exhibitors are currently showing their works and handicraft products in the "Kunsthof". Whether painting, graphics, photo and paper art, art prints, ceramics and woodwork or jewelry, object art, textile design and sewn items as well as upcycling - there is something here for every art lover. The Kunsthofverein has written it into its statutes to promote and support artists and artisans and to network them with each other. The association members want to achieve this goal with an art trail specially developed for Bad Doberan from 01.05.2024. In future, not only holidaymakers and spa or day guests but also locals will be able to find and discover art sites, galleries and workshops on this trail. "Retractable" mill in Kröpelin

The Kröpeliner Mühle is a gallery Dutch windmill. It has been a cultural center since its renovation in 2012 and is used by the "Kröpeliner Mühle" e.V. association for events. It can also be visited. Anyone driving through Kröpelin from Kühlungsborn will not believe their eyes... The mill, visible from afar from the eastern edge of the town, suddenly disappears, but later reappears. The miracle of Kröpelin is easy to explain: One succumbs to an optical illusion, because depending on the viewer's position, the mill, which has long since become the town's landmark, appears or disappears. The gallery Dutch windmill with a two-storey solid brick substructure was built in 1904 and went into operation in 1906. It operated as a grain mill until around 1952. In this Dutch mill - also known as a cap mill - the blades are attached to the cap. The mill body is fixed and only the cap is turned into the wind. Original parts of the wind turbine, such as the comb wheel and the king shaft, are still in the cap, but the equipment has been removed over the years. In 1986, work began on converting the building into a restaurant. However, it was not completed. It was not until 24 years later that a decision was made to carry out a complex modernization and to partially demolish the farm wing. The mill is owned by the town and was reopened at the end of 2013 after extensive renovations. It is operated by the "Kröpeliner Mühle" e.V. association and is open to the public.
Kröpelin "retractable" mill

The landmark of the town of Kröpelin - the "retractable" mill Anyone driving through Kröpelin from Kühlungsborn or Rerik will not believe their eyes. The mill, visible from the eastern edge of the town, suddenly disappears and reappears a short time later. Construction work on the Galerie-Holländer-Mühle began in 1904 and it was put into operation in 1906. It has a 2-storey solid brick substructure. The first floor is square and made of stone, while the central mill body with eight sides is also built of solid stone and covered with shingles. The wings of this Dutch mill - also known as a cap mill - are attached to the cap so that it can be turned into the wind. The wind turbine of the mill and parts of the equipment are still preserved. The mill was even still in operation until 1952. After it was decommissioned, it was then used as a warehouse for agricultural businesses and for the school as a "polytechnic" center. In 1986, work began on converting the mill into a restaurant. However, this conversion work came to a standstill due to the changes brought about by the fall of communism. In 2006, the "Kröpeliner Mühle" e.V. association was founded with the aim of renovating the mill in order to preserve it as a Kröpelin landmark and to organize and hold cultural events around the mill. The mill is owned by the town. Extensive renovation work began in 2012. The renovation work was completed in 2013 and the mill was reopened on December 20.

Painting and graphics: The Weyer Studio Gallery is located in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Old Town of the Hanseatic city of Wismar. In a listed former vicarage in the immediate vicinity of St. George's Church and with a view of the Fürstenhof, Anja Weyer, a freelance painter and graphic artist, has been showing her paintings and graphics in changing exhibitions in her studio and the adjoining small gallery for more than 15 years.

A mix of art featuring classic and modern linocuts, delicate etchings, fantastic paintings, and elegant ceramics in a Nordic design. At Ivette Lesser’s DRUCK.GRAFIK.WERKSTATT studio at Bothmer Castle, visitors can admire not only her own linocuts—which depict charming landscape elements of the Klützer Winkel region—but also fantastic works by other artists: Christian Potrafky—his etchings primarily feature subtle caricatures and scenes from everyday life. Peter K. Endres—paints and draws emotions using his very own mixed media technique combining acrylic, oil, ink, and graphite. In his works, he reveals just how wonderful and vulnerable life is—and can be—in all its diversity of colors, forms, and species. Landscapes and life on the Baltic coast of Mecklenburg. The painter exhibits a wide range of his creative work in his studio and adjoining gallery. In particular, he paints landscapes and pictures of the daily life of people on the Mecklenburg coast. The main focus of his works are depictions of motifs in pastel chalk. The studio of the visual artist Heinke Both is located on the upper floor of a barn complex on the extensive estate grounds. For the first time at Kunst Offen, she is opening her studio to the public for art dialog and exchange and presenting an exhibition in the hall. On display will be prints, installations and material collages. Her works are fundamentally concerned with the theme of identity and the sensitivities of being human.

You love painting. Then let us surprise you. Atelier-Galerie Jürgens is located in the south of Wismar, just a 10-minute walk from the market square. Atelier-Galerie Jürgens is located at Goethestraße 4, just a 10-minute walk from Wismar's market square. Manfred W. Jürgens, a representative of New Realism, presents a selection of his works in bright rooms and provides a glimpse of panel paintings currently in progress. In a world of chronic over-staging, Jürgens is in search of the concrete, of precision and clarity. When a pictorial idea flows through the soul via the experience in the eye and finds new formulation via the brush on the canvas, then that is pure painting! Fashions and trends are ignored. Realistic painting aims to depict things in life precisely as they are, without embellishment. But what is realism anyway? Experts argue about this question. After all, no matter how "lifelike" the artist may depict something, his painting always bears his own signature. All painting is an abstraction, and so is realism. The impulse that makes me want to paint. Sometimes I pick something up, put it on the canvas - and it prompts me to do more. I could slow myself down to follow a previously conceived idea, but the idea is from yesterday, is no longer important, so I follow the new idea. Sometimes the idea and the new idea come very close and sometimes the idea dissolves into a new expanse. So every picture has its own story, its own path and its own context. Wichmannsdorf Bakery

From May through October, the Wichmannsdorf Bakery transforms into a culinary destination for traditional baking every other Saturday. Between 9 a.m. and approximately 4 p.m., fresh baked goods from the wood-fired oven and homemade cakes are offered here—all handmade and featuring regional ingredients. About two kilometers from the Baltic Sea resort of Kühlungsborn, on the edge of the “Kühlung” nature reserve, lies the idyllic village of Wichmannsdorf—small, quiet, and characterized by a strong sense of community. Here, a local association is dedicated to cultural development and preserving the village’s quality of life. A special highlight is the bakery, which opens every other Saturday during the season from May to October. Visitors can expect a diverse selection of oven-fresh baked goods, made exclusively with natural ingredients and without artificial additives. The assortment ranges from hearty whole-grain bread and aromatic root vegetable bread to a variety of rolls with poppy seeds, emmer wheat, or in a rustic style. The selection is complemented by a range of popular classic sheet cakes, such as creamy sour cream cake, moist poppy seed cake, and fruity crumble cake. Throughout the year, various events also enrich village life—including festive gourmet evenings in the winter, a traditional Easter bonfire, and a communal village breakfast. Neuklostersee bathing area with boat hire

The charming Neuklostersee lake invites locals and guests to enjoy swimming with its large sunbathing lawn, playground, kiosk and boat hire. Neuklostersee races, beach parties and swimming competitions take place here. The mighty glaciers of the last ice age formed the charming terminal moraine landscape around Neukloster and left behind a very special pearl in the form of the heart-shaped 2.6 km² Neuklostersee. In addition to a sunbathing lawn, the bathing area also has a volleyball court. The beautiful, clear Neuklostersee can be explored by boat. Sandra and Ralf Fischer hire out water bikes and rowing boats from May to September. Their kiosk also provides refreshments. The ASB ensures safety every year from May 15 to September 15.
Gollwitz beach

The sandy beach at Gollwitz is not very crowded and offers ideal conditions for sunbathing, especially for families with children, thanks to the shallow water. The Gollwitz beach is an insider tip among nature lovers and parents with very young children. Due to its close proximity to the offshore bird sanctuary island of Langenwerder, there are unique opportunities to observe rare bird species, even from your beach chair. A small adventure playground in the form of a beached pirate ship and a volleyball net allow not only young guests to really let off steam here. The deep waters of the Baltic Sea begin about 100 meters from the sandbank. Due to the shallow water in front of the beach, there is no surveillance. There is a small kiosk and sanitary facilities on site.
Barrier-free beach access Zierow

Barrier-free beach access and the Wattmobil on Zierow beach ensure a relaxing day at the beach for all ages. In the high season, the serviced part of Zierow beach is wheelchair accessible. A wooden walkway provides access to the beach, the beach shower and two beach chairs, which are reserved for guests with disabilities. A non-slip surface replaces the wooden walkway up to the edge of the surf so that older people and guests with baby carriages or disabilities can reach the water without any problems. A barrier-free toilet is also available in the immediate vicinity at the beach entrance area. Beach chairs must be booked at least two days in advance using the online form. You can also book a beach chair by telephone (038428-63790) at the Tourist Information and Community Center or (depending on weather conditions and availability) directly on the beach in the mornings during the peak summer months. Wadden mobile Guests with disabilities can also borrow a mudflat mobile free of charge from the DLRG. Please note that it can only be borrowed if the DLRG watchtower or the beach basket reservation is occupied. The beach wheelchair is seawater-resistant and an accompanying person is required for use. It can only be borrowed by guests with restricted mobility, only by the hour and only on presentation of an ID document and a cell phone number. The beach wheelchair may only be used on the Zierow beach area. Use outside the beach area is not permitted. The Wattmobil is only suitable for transporting one person with a maximum weight of 80 kilograms on rough, stable, level terrain.
Tree house

The tree house is a baroque building from the middle of the 18th century. The building with the two Swedish heads in front of the portal takes its name from the turnpike that used to be here. The eponymous "tree" was a floating long timber used to block off the harbor entrance. It was closed during the night or when danger was imminent. The Baumhaus am Alten Hafen in Wismar opened the permanent exhibition "Maritime Traditions Center" on 05.04.2019. The exhibition offers insights into the development of the Hanseatic city of Wismar during the Hanseatic era, the replica of the "Poeler Kogge", the restoration of the pilot schooner "Atalanta" and the fishing cutter "Marlen", as well as the eventful shipbuilding in Wismar with the development of the Wismar shipyard from 1946 to the present day. Impressive exhibits show the love for the traditional ships and the pride in shipbuilding in Wismar.

Not far from the Baltic Sea, a stiff breeze always in our faces, we can let our gaze wander over our fields as far as Wismar... Here we live and work according to organic guidelines. In our farm store you will find organic products directly from the farm and from the region. We work ecologically, in harmony with nature. Outside is our home. In wind and weather. We were born with this in mind. We treat our environment in such a way that it remains usable and nourishing for future generations. As a team, we look after the land, the crops, the cattle, the geese, the vegetables and the bees. The circular economy is particularly important to us. Everything here should work together. The geese and cattle provide the nursery and the fields with valuable manure, they graze on the pastures and ensure biodiversity. Our honeybees help with pollination and secure yields, but at the same time they also make us aware of the need to create a diverse range of crops. This is helped not only by a diverse crop rotation, but also by the flowering meadow, which can be sponsored. In this way, we offer direct contact with nature. We also provide insights into organic farming through educational farm activities. With farm education, we offer young and old experiences on the farm at regular intervals. Ship in a bottle museum

The private collection with the exhibition "Seafaring is a necessity" shows many ships in bottles, ship models, a miniature planetarium, old maritime equipment and flotsam and jetsam. Jürgen Kubatz lovingly crafted his exhibits himself. He has been pursuing this passion for over 40 years and exhibits his work in his ship-in-a-bottle museum. Two amateur photographers take a close look. Amateur photographers Martin Sausmikat and Peter Diemer are exhibiting their photographs at KunstOffen in the Café im Stall. Visitors can enjoy the pictures in a cozy atmosphere and be inspired by coffee and homemade cakes and tarts. As part of KunstOffen, hobby photographers Martin Sausmikat and Peter Diemer present their works in the Café im Stall at Elmenhof in Elmenhorst in Klützer Winkel. The exhibition shows a varied selection of photographs - from special everyday moments and interesting detail shots to creative compositions. The combination of art and enjoyment makes the visit a special experience: while you look at the photographs, you can enjoy homemade cakes, hearty treats and aromatic coffee in the cozy atmosphere of the café in the stable. Small chocolate factory with glass production, sales and café with a beautiful outdoor terrace and harbor view. In our chocolate factory in the old harbor of Wismar we produce our little "addictive makers", chocolate bars and many other things. Here, chocolate is still made by hand in the traditional way and packaged with lots of love. Of course, you can also put together your own chocolate bars with ingredients of your choice, which are then handmade for you in our glass production facility. Meanwhile, in our small café area, you can enjoy a cup of Choco coffee or a delicious drinking chocolate in many different varieties. Our "Gläschen Glück" (warm, liquid chocolate drawn directly from the chocolate machines and pimped up with a little crown of milk foam) or our legendary ice shakes are of course also available. ... and when the weather is good, you can see us on our outdoor terraces with views of the harbor and the sea.
