GDR Museum of Everyday Life Malchow

📍 Inselstadt Malchow

The building was inaugurated in 1957 as a "movie palace", but today presents objects from the past. The former cinema and event building now houses a museum on everyday GDR history. On December 14, 1957, the "Film-Palast" was ceremoniously opened and inaugurated with a screening of the Soviet film "The Prologue". The painter and graphic artist Sieghard Dittner, who had created a mural for the entrance hall, was invited as a guest of honor. Since 2008, his works can be admired in the art museum at the monastery in the island town of Malchow. Since October 1999, the exhibition has been constantly expanded and restaged. In the meantime, visitors can experience everyday life in the GDR in a variety of ways and find interesting information on a wide range of topics. Whether cinema, weddings, vacations or technology, there is something for every passion. The expansion of the building and the large collection make it possible to constantly change the exhibition. Visitors can now even be transported back to childhood and take a curious look at various living areas from the 60s, 70s and 80s.

DUO LIAISONG

DUO LIAISONG

📍 Fuhlendorf OT Bodstedt

FULL-LENGTH CONCERTS FOR THEATERS, CONCERT HALLS, CLUBS, CABARETS, FESTIVALS GALA, OPEN AIR AND CHURCHES OFFICIAL EVENTS AS WELL AS PRIVATE OCCASIONS * BY THE WAY A GREAT GIFT IDEA A special kind of song relationship LIED |ROCK| POP | CHANSON | Ӏ ACOUSTIC & Me(e)hr, from jazz classics to H. Heine. LIAISONG shines with impressive virtuosity in these genres. A concert with an unmistakable style and unique character: concertante, multi-faceted and surprising. "The duo is a chameleon: sometimes classical choral, sometimes bluegrass feeling, then chansons again. They sing in eight languages - and freestyle with their own and newly interpreted songs. But they are never a cover band. They live by the sea, they take the songs and make them their own, and the result is pure LIAISONG. Authentic, emotional, clear in their message and top-class musical delicacies." The duo will celebrate their 20th stage anniversary in 2026. https://www.liaisong.de/Startseite Dunja Naßler Averdung Singer & painter Dunja Naßler Averdung is an artist with body and soul who radiates a captivating presence on stage as well as at private parties. Her paintings glow with color and energy, and her singing goes straight to the heart - powerful, honest and full of passion. Her musical journey began in the 1980s in various amateur bands and led her to the children's rock band "Rumpelstil" in the 90s. A decade later, she expanded her stage career at the LIZ Theater and made audiences smile and marvel at her talent in equal measure. She has been traveling alongside her husband, musician Joerg Naßler Averdung, since 2006. Whether in Andalusia, Morocco or Mexico - their journey together has taken them to new artistic heights. Her Spanish-language songs in particular, inspired by her friend Miguel de Hoyos, embody the melancholy and fire of the rancheras and bring a touch of wanderlust to the stage. Her greatest passion is singing in different languages and sharing music with people from different cultures. It is hardly surprising that she sings in nine languages - she switches effortlessly between genres, delighting the audience with her joy of performing and a palpable passion that spreads like a spark. Her stories, sometimes cheerful, sometimes sad, are always honest and deeply touching. She enchants the audience with her voice, and when the last song has faded away, the world is a little better and there is only one wish left: one more encore - or maybe even two! As the vocal mentor of the Bigband Ostseesound, she showed her talent for shaping voices and inspiring people. She gained her technical foundation through training and workshops with renowned music teachers, which means that her voice is not only sonorous but also technically brilliant. Whether as a singer or painter, whether South American ballad or colorful canvas: Dunja Naßler Averdung makes her audience laugh, dream and wander into the distance - always a little more colorful, always a little more alive. Joerg Naßler Averdung is a passionate guitarist, composer and musical storyteller who has been performing on stage and enchanting audiences around the world for over four decades. He began his career as a freelance musician and composer back in 1981, while still studying in Dresden, and has not been deterred from his musical path ever since. Inspired by international artists such as Diane Ponzio from the USA, Miguel de Hoyos from Mexico and Solorazaf from Madagascar, as well as many years of collaboration with singer-songwriter Gerhard Schöne, Naßler has realized a broad spectrum of sounds and musical projects as a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist. From the "Dresdner Gitarrenduo" to the duo project "LIAISONG" with Dunja Averdung - his repertoire ranges from theater music to film compositions to soulful solo performances. In addition to his work as a musician, Naßler Averdung has also worked as a producer. He has been contributing his passion for sound as a sound engineer and arranger in his own "FischOhr" recording studio since 2009. He is a "dream maker" and globetrotter with the soul of a modern troubadour, whose artistic journey has taken him from Europe's stages to the USA, Russia and Canada. Joerg Naßler Averdung composer, musician In 1981, while still a student, Joerg Naßler Averdung began playing and composing as a professional freelance musician. Together with the former refectory (now an art museum), the Damenplatz at Malchow Monastery forms the center of the grounds. The middle of the Damenplatz is dominated by a 300-year-old lime tree. Around 1900, the baroque-style design was simplified. Additional paths and flowerbeds were laid out, ornamental trees planted and modern gas lanterns installed. After 1945, the garden was lost, but the trees, the row of Chinese lilacs and a magnolia remained. In summer, it is possible to enjoy coffee and cake from the monastery café while immersing yourself in the history of the monastery. Events, such as the Viking Festival, also take place on the grounds.

Church of Thanksgiving in Sehlen

Church of Thanksgiving in Sehlen

📍 Bergen OT Sehlen

The Dankeskirche is a church building dating from 1866 in the municipality of Sehlen on the island of Rügen. The neo-Gothic brick church was built in 1866 and is situated on a hill surrounded by a cemetery. It is 18.50 m long, 11.80 m wide and 12 m high up to the ridge, which is topped by 7 m by the slender, four-storey west tower with a simple saddle roof. The hall-like nave is adjoined by a polygonal apse. The choir and nave are dominated by sturdy buttresses. The high, large pointed arch windows end at the height of the galleries, which run around the nave on three sides. The new congregation room, which was separated from the nave by a glass wall and door in 1993/94 and is located under the gallery, where the organ is also located, is architecturally original. The organ was built in 1887 by Friedrich. A. Mehmel from Stralsund. It was thoroughly restored in 1999 by the organ builder Wolter from Zudar/Rügen. The pulpit, like the first stone altar, dates from 1866. A new altar made of Pomeranian oak was installed in 1999. In 2001, the rose window of the entrance portal was renovated. A service is held every 2nd Sunday at 9.00 a.m. and there are summer concerts.
