Café 7 - Farm Shop & Cultural Café

Café 7 is a vibrant organic café and the farm shop of the SiebenGiebelHof.

Here, after enjoying Italian coffee specialties and homemade cake, you can fill your bags with farm products: premium milk, yogurt, cheese, quark, sausage, meat, and wood-fired bread. Natural foods are also available. Café 7 is located right halfway between Hamburg and Berlin on the A24 (Suckow exit). It is the cultural café and farm shop of the SiebenGiebelHof. Behind the farm, 20 red-and-white cows graze on 40 hectares of meadows and provide delicious milk, which is processed into dairy products in the farm’s own raw milk cheese dairy. On another 50 hectares of farmland, the grain for the wood-fired bakery is grown. A handful of Angler Sattelschweine pigs consume the whey produced during cheese-making and the cleaned-out grain. Quark, yogurt, cheese, and wood-fired bread taste like they used to, because they are made traditionally and with great care, without unnecessary ingredients. The Landbau Gemeinschaft, a non-profit cultural association, ensures that there is always something happening in the cultural calendar at www.siebengiebelhof.de, featuring concerts, readings, theater, and workshops. Shopping at Café 7 is an adventure: children love it, as there’s usually still time to take a stroll through the calf barn, watch the cats play, feed the piglets, and cuddle with Chou Hei, the faithful farm dog. The owner, Katinka Hartmann, offers Italian coffee specialties, homemade cakes, and a weekly rotating selection of snacks.
