City wall Pasewalk
The former town wall of Pasewalk is still largely intact today. The medieval town wall, with its towers, gates and weigh houses, has been preserved in large parts and is one of the most beautiful sights in Pasewalk. The town's landmark is the "Kiek in de Mark", a tower more than 20 meters high that was part of the former town fortifications.
Sternberg town wall with mill gate
The town wall with mill gate in Sternberg surrounded the old town of Sternberg in the Middle Ages. The town wall and the town gates were destroyed in 1629 during the Thirty Years' War and rebuilt in their current form in 1839. While there were originally four town gates, only this mill gate with its entrance and exit still exists today. A staircase in the ramparts leads to the mill gate. The gate, built in late Gothic style, was extensively renovated in 1998. In November 2007, a lighting system was put into operation following extensive renovation of the rampart wall.

City forest
📍 Stralsund
The Stralsund city forest - a city forest on the moor pond. The Stralsund city forest is primarily used for recreation, to improve the quality of life in the city, to supply the citizens with wood and, of course, for nature conservation. It is an attractive green belt within the city, covers almost 50 hectares of water and land and was originally a ground moraine. This is why a layer of peat up to seven meters thick still rests under the moor pond today. The very nutrient-rich and moist soil favors the growth of plants such as reed beds and silver willows. Many different paths and trails lead through the wooded area, which extends north to southwest around the moor pond. This means that a walk around the moor pond is always a walk through the forest.

Stone box
Burial site from the Neolithic period around 3000 BC. With the introduction of agriculture and animal husbandry, a sedentary way of life began in the Neolithic period. The treatment of the dead also changed. From then on, burials took place either in simple earth graves or in specially constructed earth mounds with stone chambers. Remains of such a stone chamber were discovered in 1902 by woodcutters in the Hohes Holz hiking area near Teterow. The stone chamber was surrounded by a mound 18 m long and 7 m wide. The chamber's capstone was already missing. Shards of clay vessels were found during the investigation. In 2004, the site was scientifically re-examined and restored. The exact position of the stones could be determined on the basis of the traces left behind. The entrance to the chamber, which was only 80 x 100 cm wide, was via a flat stone at the western end that is missing today. This allowed the bones of the deceased to be laid there.

The beach is supervised in the afternoon when the weather is good. The outdoor pool is free of charge and open all year round from Mon-Sun. You have plenty of space to set up on the lawn. The Altefähr spot is located in the immediate vicinity of the Hanseatic city of Stralsund. The direct view of the impressive Rügen Bridge and the historic old town create a very special flair. Located directly on the banks of the Strelasund, Altefähr is not only a popular local recreation area for Stralsund residents, but also a beautiful surfing spot with a good standing area and even a surf school on site. However, unlike windsurfing, kitesurfing is not permitted here in the summer months according to the beach regulations. Due to the somewhat sheltered location of the spot, there are sometimes gusty winds due to wind cover. The waves can also get quite choppy outside the standing area. The preferred wind direction for this spot is west to northwest, when the wind blows unhindered across the Bodden. The water's edge at the entrance is secured by wooden piers, which is why there is unfortunately no real beach. However, the grassy area offers you plenty of space to set up. The spot is suitable for wind directions from SE to W. Facilities: Disposal Offer of the surf school - sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, (kiting and SUP in Thiessow) Parking facilities
Surfspot Baabe
Baabe is a top location with easterly wind directions. The waves break cleanly on the sandbank and run onto the beach with a moderate shorebreak. In high season, you are not allowed to go on the water in the bathing zone marked with buoys. The state-approved seaside resort of Baabe is located on the Mönchgut peninsula on the south-east coast of Rügen. With its long and fine sandy beach, the spot offers the best conditions for a relaxing Baltic Sea vacation. In the summer months, the beach can get quite crowded, so that kiting in particular is only safe in the evening hours. When the wind blows from the east, Baabe develops into a good wave spot and the waves break about 100 meters from the beach due to the sandbanks in front of it. Due to the relatively shallow shore, however, the shore break is limited, which is why wave beginners also get their money's worth in Baabe. There is a surf school right by the spot, which also offers a variety of leisure activities on less windy days. The spot is suitable for wind directions from N to SE. Facilities: Toilets, waste disposal (toilets 200 m to the left of the spot) Offer of the surf school - windsurfing, SUP, sailing lessons Parking facilities

Incidentally, the Salzhaff is named after its high salt content compared to other Bodden waters, which corresponds to that of the Baltic Sea. If you are looking for a large flat water area without large waves and currents, you will find the right spot here. The local kitesurfing school also provides beginners with expert help to get out on the water safely. The parking lot specially designed for motorhomes and the nearby campsite also make the spot attractive for camping enthusiasts. The spot offers plenty of variety thanks to the wide range of leisure activities on land and water. Thanks to the large shallow water area, both beginners and professionals feel at home here. In front of it is a large shallow water area with a 200-metre-wide standing area. A little insider tip: if the wind is blowing from the east or west, you can enjoy a jet effect. The small vacation resort of Dranske is located in the north-easternmost part of Rügen. The spot is located in the middle of the village and therefore offers a good infrastructure. The spot has a good wind yield all year round and offers a large standing area. From the water, you can even see the nearby island of Hiddensee with its eye-catching Dornbusch lighthouse. Not least for all these reasons, Dranske is a venue for the German Windsurf Cup. There is a sufficiently large meadow for you to set up your equipment. Unfortunately, the entry area is quite narrow, which is why a lot of consideration is required, especially on good windy days. You should also familiarize yourself with the area overview and the spot rules beforehand. These can be found on a large board directly at the spot. There is a surf hostel especially for water sports enthusiasts in the village. The spot is suitable for wind directions from NE to S. Facilities: Toilets, showers, waste disposal (campsite) Surf school offers - kitesurfing, windsurfing, SUP, canoeing, sailing, dragon boat training Parking facilities
Surfspot Graal-Müritz
Sideshore winds from the west and north-east are ideal for a day of surfing in the Baltic Sea spa. In stormy weather, however, Graal-Müritz is only recommended for experienced surfers due to the dense groynes and steeply sloping beach. Graal-Müritz is one of the most beautiful seaside resorts in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The village is centrally located between the city of Rostock and the idyllic Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula. So even on windless days, there is plenty to discover in the surrounding area. The beach has everything you would expect from a Baltic Sea beach: clear water, waves and white crests of foam. There is even a surf school with rental facilities on site. However, in stormy weather, windsurfing and kitesurfing at this spot is only recommended for experienced surfers due to the many groynes and the lack of a standing area. This is when Graal-Müritz becomes a real wave spot. The spot is suitable for wind directions from W to NE. Equipment: Toilets, showers, waste disposal (campsite) Offer of the surf school - windsurfing, (kitesurfing), sailing, surfing lessons Parking facilities 500 m away, subject to charge
