Doll museum - in Frieda's little barn

In Frieda's little barn there is a doll's house museum above a store for old and beautiful things. Free admission Katja Schülke is living her childhood dream - doll's houses from GDR times, lovingly preserved, collected, refurbished and equipped with home-made miniatures, show the world of furnishings in miniature down to the last detail. Entire themed worlds of different houses can be found in the attic of Frieda's little barn. Doll's prams, cradles and matching crockery can also be admired here. Free admission. Cross-channel bridge

The bascule bridge Am Querkanal, also known as the Querkanalbrücke, connects the northern and southern areas of the harbor island. The Querkanalbrücke is one of five bridges over which the harbor island can be reached and is a technical monument. It was put into operation in 1932 and is open daily during the season from April, as only small motorboats, canoes or rowing boats can pass through on the water side when it is not open. ROESNEREI presents stories made of paper in its store studio! In my store studio in Güstrow, the ROESNEREI, stories are created from paper - or to be more precise, from the most diverse papers you can imagine: Old and new, used and unused, precious and banal, strange and everyday. In the papier-mâché technique, these materials are transformed into figures and episodes that I encounter in life or that occupy me. Sometimes this leads to bizarre stories in the course of which special personalities, such as stag ladies and gentlemen, are born - but spring ladies, table parties, boat trips or even lucky swings can also be found in the ROESNEREI. In addition, a selection from the collage series "Signs from Paradise" - small works of art that tell stories from paradise ... And not forgetting wonderful necklaces with medallions (also made of paper, of course) from the "GLÜCKSSTÜCKE" series - each bead is individually hand-formed ... Bicycle and Passenger Ferry in Stolpe on the Peene River

In Stolpe on the Peene, the only connection between the Hanseatic city of Anklam and Jarmen is a small bike and passenger ferry that runs from Stolpe to the opposite shore, to the Stolpmühl pier. While it’s not possible to cycle directly along the Peene—after all, we’re in the Peenetal River Landscape Nature Park, one of the largest contiguous lowland moor areas in Central and Western Europe—there is a bike path along the Peene from Anklam to Grüttow, and additional sections are in the planning stages. During the summer months, the ferry takes passengers across the Peene in no time at all. You reach Quilow via a bumpy, old access road. At the Stolpmühl pier, you ring a bell to summon the ferryman.

Have you always wanted to watch a white-tailed eagle hunting for prey up close in the wild? Ranger-Tours offers you this unique experience, the only one of its kind in Germany. From an electric boat against the beautiful backdrop of the Feldberg lake region, you can watch the white-tailed eagle glide in when called. Hardly anyone is as deeply connected to the flora and fauna of the Feldberg lake region as volunteer nature conservationist Fred Bollmann. He knows where cranes nest, carnivorous plants grow, and foxes hide. On his tours, he introduces both individual visitors and tour groups to the uniqueness of the landscape in an entertaining way. Whether on a round-trip tour by electric boat across the crystal-clear Schmaler and Breiter Luzin lakes, on a discovery tour by tour bus through the Feldberg Lake District Nature Park, or on a guided canoe trip on the Krüseliner Bach, the ranger offers his guests rare insights into the sensitive flora and fauna. His specialized ornithological knowledge makes it possible to observe not only the white-tailed eagle, osprey, and lesser spotted eagle, but also rare bird species such as the ground-nesting gray heron, kingfishers, black storks, and rough-legged buzzards. His insider knowledge is particularly valued among photographers. He has set up dozens of hides that allow wildlife photographers and filmmakers to capture the animals in undisturbed moments. Fred Bollmann is also available for corporate events, group outings, and canoe safaris for entire school classes. Day trips featuring a rustic picnic in forest meadows and a campfire are just as possible as packages including a multi-course meal prepared by a Michelin-starred chef. Rest area at Lake Hertha

The Hohe Holz is one of Teterow's three urban hiking areas. It is characterized by an extraordinary beech tree population. The "Hohe Holz" is characterized by a magnificent stand of beech trees. This is what makes the hiking area so special. The trees have been standing there for more than 100 years and have now grown to a height of around 40 meters. Remarkable: if beech shafts usually reach a length of 10 to 12 meters, the specimens in the "Hohe Holz" reach an impressive 15 to 20 meters. The seed of the trees has the quality label "special origin". Lake Hertha, a dreamy forest pond surrounded by water irises and woodruff, is steeped in legend. The beautiful Princess Hertha is said to live at the bottom of the lake. On St. John's Eve, she drives around the lake three times in a golden carriage pulled by four white swans. Afterwards, the carriage sinks back into the depths... The covered picnic area at Lake Hertha is the perfect place for a picnic. If you like, you can also enjoy nature from the bench by the lake. There is also a small educational tree trail in the area of the rest area. Traces of a long history of settlement can also be found in the "Hohe Holz". The stone cist grave here dates back to 3000-1800 BC. Hikers can enjoy a charming view over the town and the hills of the Teterow basin from the upper Hohlweg. The "Hohes Holz" restaurant invites you to stop for refreshments.

Barth Town Hall

The building was constructed in 1926 based on designs by the Berlin architect Prof. Walter Brandt. Since 1946, the building has served as the seat of the Barth municipal administration. Since 2005, it has functioned not only as city hall but also as the administrative headquarters of the Barth district. The address is Teergang 2. In 1925, Barth was granted the status of a county seat. The building was constructed in 1926 as the district office for the Franzburg-Barth district based on designs by the Berlin architect Prof. Walter Brandt. Modelled after North German brick architecture, it is adorned with beautiful gables and a gable-like central section. The district administrator’s residence was located in a side wing. Since 1946, the building has served as the seat of the Barth municipal administration and was also used by the polyclinic until 1992. Since 2005, it has served not only as the town hall of Barth but also as the administrative headquarters of the Barth district. In today’s town hall, you will find, among other things, the Barth City Archives, the Registry Office, the Public Order Office, the Residents’ Registration Office, and the relevant authorities for matters related to construction and real estate, finance, daycare and schools, tourism and culture, housing assistance, municipal affairs, and more.

The Gadebusch Town Hall is located at Markt 1. It dates back to the 14th century. The town hall on the market square was built around 1340. In 1618, it was renovated using the medieval structure as a foundation, and the current main gable with the court arbour and the rear facade were added. It underwent extensive renovation from 1998 to 2000.

The town hall in Tribsees dates back to 1884. Built in 1884, the town hall is the seat of the mayor and the municipal administration in Tribsees. The foundation stone was ceremoniously laid on March 19, 1884. A copper casket contained documents and other additions from the time, such as daily newspapers and lists of staff appointments to the town authorities. These were walled into the foundation stone under the right-hand corner pillar.

The historic town hall with the town history museum The current town hall building on Neuer Markt was built in 1797 and rebuilt in the middle of the 19th century. Today it appears as a three-storey building in the Tudor Gothic style. After its reconstruction in 1988, the town hall was given a coat of colored plaster and Schinkel lamps. Under its arcades, the building houses the old council scales with meter-long weighing beams, the suspension of which still stretches out into the open. On the south side of the New Town Hall, you can still see a bullet hole from the time of the Kapp Putsch in 1920. The city guides will be happy to tell you the story of this event during a historical city tour. Today, the town hall building houses the registry office of the town of Waren (Müritz). On the upper floors, the Town History Museum presents a permanent exhibition on the history of Waren and the way of life of its inhabitants. Special themed exhibitions are also on display.

If there were a beauty contest for town halls, the Wittenburg building would probably be one of the favorites to win. With its double staircase, archway and four huge rectangular towers, the restored building is more reminiscent of a castle than an administrative building. It would be hard to imagine a more beautiful setting for a fairy tale than Wittenburg Town Hall. Its unusual architectural style, based on English Tudor Gothic, makes Wittenburg Town Hall unique among the town halls of Mecklenburg. It was built in 1852 according to plans by the Schwerin court architect Georg Adolf Demmler and was officially opened on January 8, 1853. Today, Wittenburg Town Hall is one of the most important buildings from the historicism period. After extensive renovation in 1996, it now shines in new splendor and is a very popular photo motif.
