Salmon & fine smokehouse
● Saal / OT Hessenburg
The special feature of our smoked salmon, however, lies in the traditional preparation and careful hand processing. "Lachsreiner" is a small company from the Baltic Sea coast, based in Hessenburg and deals with various forms of salmon refinement in different flavors and processing methods. Only high-quality and constantly monitored raw materials are used for this. We source our salmon from various regions around the world. While some come from wild catches in the Baltic Sea and the Atlantic, the majority come from near-natural aquacultures, particularly in Scotland, Ireland and the coasts of Chile, where the fish are sometimes reared in wild water. These conditions ensure the fine marbling, the compact cut, the outstanding tenderness of the meat and a high proportion of muscle mass with a low fat content. The special feature of our smoked salmon, however, lies in the traditional preparation and careful hand processing. Each individual stage of refinement is carried out by hand. The fillets are seasoned in several stages according to traditional methods, with successive maturing and resting phases lasting several days. We use a gentle cold-smoking process for smoking, which is carried out in special oak ovens. Depending on the weather conditions, this process takes 35 to over 50 hours, alternating between smoking and resting phases. We only use pure wood chips from natural wood. The result of this careful processing of the best raw materials is a smoked salmon of the highest quality with a perfect taste and appearance. You can buy the smoked salmon online and at regional markets. At KRANICH Café Hessenburg, smoked salmon is on the small, fine menu. The smoked salmon can also be bought freshly vacuum-packed there.

St. Luke's Church, Graal-Müritz
● Graal-Müritz
The Protestant church stands between the districts of Graal and Müritz, surrounded by the cemetery and flanked by houses. It was designed by Gottfried Ludwig Möckel on behalf of Grand Duke Friedrich Franz IV and consecrated on October 18, 1908. Curiously, the tower does not face west, as is customary. The church in Graal-Müritz is a brick building; the tower is 26 meters high, and the total length of the church is also 26 meters. It is 12 meters wide. The nave is 15 meters long, 9.5 meters wide, and 8.5 meters high. The pointed barrel vault is reminiscent of a ship that has been pulled ashore and laid keel-up. Our church has three bells. A prayer bell inscribed with “wachet und betet” (watch and pray). It is the oldest bell and survived all the turmoil of war. Two bells that fell victim to the war in 1941 were replaced in 1952 with the inscription “Jesus lives and Jesus conquers” and in 1956 with the inscription “Marana tha—Our Lord is coming.” The organ was built by court organ builder Carl Börger from Rostock-Gehlsdorf. In 1953 and 1997, the pneumatic organ was expanded and overhauled by the firm W. Sauer from Frankfurt/O. Today, the church hosts Protestant services, cultural events, and exhibitions.

Meiningen bridge
● Zingst
The Meiningen Bridge is a technical landmark with over 100 years of history, which has shaped the transition from rail to road transport and still plays a central role for the region today. The Meiningen Bridge has connected the mainland with the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula since 1910. Originally built as a railroad bridge for the Darßbahn, it was used for road traffic after the Second World War and developed into the region's central traffic artery. Due to its age, a temporary bridge around 200 m long with a lifting section was built in 2012, which still carries road, cycle and pedestrian traffic today. A rail connection is also planned for the replacement construction.

To the south of Fischland-Darß-Zingst is the Ehlershof museum barn in Rostock's Wulfshagen. The farm has been in the family since 1866 and resembles a classic three-sided farm consisting of a residential house, stable building and barn. In the barn there is a small, lovingly furnished museum that shows rural life from 1900 to 1950. From milk churns and rotary ironers to a functioning threshing box, many small and large items from times gone by are on display and sometimes even demonstrated. Individual guided tours and discussions are possible by appointment. The Ehlershof museum barn traditionally celebrates the opening of the season every year on Ascension Day. For many years, the Ehlers family has welcomed the congregation to a picnic on the farm after the service in the village church. The group of visitors comes by bike, tractor, Kremser and co. to experience a cozy family day. In the afternoon, a puppet show is performed to entertain the younger guests. Food and drink will be provided. Every two years at the beginning of September, the Ehlershof museum barn invites you to the farm and threshing festival. The highlight is the threshing with a restored threshing box. There are also various culinary stalls and a tractor exhibition, changing demonstrations (potato trail, reaper, plowing, etc.) on the grounds. For the little ones, the Ehlershof is organizing a children's area with a straw castle, handicrafts and all sorts of things to do. There will also be a puppet show at the farm festival. St. Peter Paul's Church
● Zingst
The village of Zingst only came into being in the first half of the 19th century, which is why the Zingst church is younger than other sacred buildings in the region. It was built in two years by order of the Prussian royal government and consecrated in the fall of 1862. The architect of the simple towerless building in neo-Gothic style was the then court architect Friedrich August Stüler, a pupil of Schinkel. Dietrich Bonhoefer's work at the Zingsthof in 1935 and his sermon from the pulpit of the church in the same year are of historical significance. In 1986, the church received a new organ, built by the Sauer company (Frankfurt/Oder) while retaining the case of the old Mehmel organ.
