The nature conservation station has an exhibition that introduces interested visitors to the Recknitz Valley natural area with numerous display and information boards, overview maps, exhibits and animal specimens. The exhibition provides information on the origins of the Recknitz Valley and the valley moor, the existing habitats and the animal and plant species living here and how they have changed as a result of human use, as well as recent renaturation. From May 1 to September 30, the exhibition is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 13:00 to 17:00. Guided tours can also be arranged for small groups. During the winter months, guided tours are only possible by prior arrangement. Visits to the exhibition are generally free of charge for individual tours of the exhibition. A small donation towards the upkeep of the exhibition is gladly accepted for guided tours (duration approx. 1.0 - 1.5 hours, depending on the interests of the visitors). The employees also look after the outdoor facilities at the nature conservation station (orchard meadow, species-rich field hedge, pastureland) and a further 30 hectares of biotope areas in the Recknitz Valley.

We love the genuine, unadulterated. Here you will find completely natural, cold-pressed vegetable oil and gluten-free flour made from oilseeds or nuts. You won't find any preservatives, additives or artificial flavors here. All our products are carefully made by hand. The Ostseemühle is a small, family-run oil mill in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Our oils and flours are obtained by gentle cold pressing in an artisanal manner. All products are carefully bottled by hand. We do not remove any substances from the oil or add anything, as is done in industrial edible oil production. This means that the oils and gluten-free flours remain completely natural. The healthy ingredients contained in the seeds and nuts are retained. We press fresh linseed oil every week. You can buy it directly from the farm store from Monday to Saturday from 9:00 to 17:00. In addition to our self-pressed oils and flours, we offer fruit spreads, honey, salt, mustard and tea from regional production in our farm store. on the grounds of the Schuenhagen forestry office On the grounds of the Schuenhagen Forestry Office, visitors can learn on the lesser spotted eagle trail what habitat the lesser spotted eagle needs, how to recognize it in the sky and what long journey the eagle makes to its wintering grounds in Africa. Or simply go in search of the eagle yourself! With the help of installed binoculars, children can do this from April to September. The trail is free of charge, freely accessible all year round and designed to be exciting for children and adults alike. You are also welcome to take part in guided tours. Since 2022, there has also been a new nature trail to discover behind the forestry office. In the so-called "Müß" - a natural forest that is left to develop naturally - a path with 7 different stations leads through the world of tree species. The Schuenhagen forestry office, which covers an area of almost 20,000 hectares and is located between Ribnitz-Damgarten and Stralsund, is home to a significant number of lesser spotted eagles throughout Germany. Germany's smallest eagle still feels at home in the dense forests of the "Nordvorpommersche Waldlandschaft". Here it can raise its young in peace and catch mice and frogs in the surrounding meadows. The Schuenhagen Forestry Office has been supporting the chance.natur project "Nordvorpommersche Waldlandschaft" (North West Pomeranian Forest Landscape) from the very beginning, which has set itself the task of preserving this special animal species and protecting its habitat. St. Mary's Church Ribnitz

The town church of St. Marien with its massive tower is visible from afar and dominates the townscape. It is a brick building from the 13th century. . It was immediately rebuilt and furnished in the Baroque style (altar and pulpit). At the beginning of the 1980s, the interior of the church underwent further changes: a winter church was installed and the half-timbering in the nave was exposed. The tower (49 meters high, 214 steps) is accessible and the viewing platform offers a beautiful view over the town of Ribnitz and its surroundings. If visibility is good, the towers of Rostock can be seen with the naked eye. Organ concerts and exhibitions are held regularly during the summer months. Construction of the three-aisled hall church began during the city's founding period. Remains of the late Romanesque architectural decoration of the first church are preserved in the form of a round arch frieze on the west side of the nave and in the paired lancet windows. Later conversions and extensions in various architectural styles characterize the image of the church. The great town fire of 1759 destroyed the vaults and medieval interior as well as the tower, which was 100 meters high at the time. Under the direction of the Ludwigslust court architect Johann Joachim Busch, the roof and interior of the church were redesigned in the Baroque style. The central nave was given a wooden semi-circular barrel vault on brick latticework supports, while the side aisles were given flat wooden roofing. The tower lantern was not added until 1841/43 according to designs by Georg Adolph Demmler. After 1980, the interior was remodeled again with the addition of a winter church and parish rooms. In 1994, the organ from the workshop of the Dresden organ builder Jehmlich was inaugurated. Today, in addition to church services and community events, concerts, exhibitions and guided tours take place regularly.
