The Kulmeck Restaurant in the seaside resort of Heringsdorf is renowned for its excellent cuisine. The Kulmeck Restaurant is one of the oldest and most renowned restaurants on the island of Usedom. Here, guests experience “a culinary lifestyle and casual, exquisite dining in an intimate atmosphere.” In January 2021, the restaurant was awarded a Michelin star. The service is described as “personal, warm, professional, and discreet,” and the dishes as “delicately accented and full of finesse.” From Wednesday through Saturday, finger foods, delicate appetizers, and light wines are served on the terrace in the afternoon, while outstanding 5- to 7-course meals are served in the evening. Top chef Tom Wickboldt took over the Kulmeck restaurant in 2020. Following a complete renovation, it reopened in October. Wickboldt had already brought the first Michelin star to the island of Usedom back in 2013. In the meantime, he also gained inspiration for his own restaurant while working as a private chef for a well-known German hard rock band, for whom he quickly conjured up both authentic haute cuisine and creative finger food.
