Rokitta's coffee manufactory and farm store

Rokitta's coffee manufactory and farm store

Gremersdorf-Buchholz

Taste the difference! Here, the product does not come off the production line. Here, they are made with heart and hand. We, Nadin and Oliver Rokitta, want you to experience coffee in a wonderful way and enjoy it at home. All our coffees are top-quality coffees or specialty coffees, as they are called in English. This means that the coffee always scores at least 80 points on a quality scale of 0-100 points. Only 5% of the world's coffee ever reaches this quality level. So you can really say that our coffee is world class. Roasting, beans, quality and aromas play a decisive role in ensuring that we can proudly offer you a really good coffee. However, all this becomes secondary if we cannot also proudly say that our coffee is grown under good conditions and that we support many local social projects. Freshness is also crucial for the right taste of the coffee. Because only freshly roasted coffee has a particularly fine taste and aroma. That's why we roast our coffee slowly and gently in our own coffee roastery on the Baltic coast, so that each bean can fully develop its own character. You can see how fresh our coffee is from our packaging, which is all fitted with a valve so that the coffee can still outgas. You can buy various coffee makers, coffee cups, candles and beautiful Swedish and Danish home accessories to go with your coffee in our farm store. We also offer wine and sparkling wine from Baden Württemberg, once from a small winery run by women and sparkling wine from Germany's oldest sparkling wine producer. Come and browse without obligation and watch us roasting (opening hours on the website) or visit our online store.

STRALSUND MUSEUM St. Catherine's Monastery

STRALSUND MUSEUM St. Catherine's Monastery

Stralsund

CURRENTLY CLOSED DUE TO CONVERSION The first museum in the Hanseatic city of Stralsund was founded in 1858 and opened a year later as the "Provinzialmuseum für Neuvorpommern und Rügen". It is also the oldest museum in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Exhibitions on prehistory and early history, urban history, folklore and naval history are presented in three listed buildings. The most beautiful and at the same time most valuable exhibit is the gold jewelry from Hiddensee found in 1872-74. Founded in 1858, the museum is housed in the former Dominican monastery of St. Katharinen in the heart of the listed old town. Two gold treasures from the Viking Age can be admired here, of which the gold jewelry from Hiddensee is not only legendary, but also world-famous. Artistic Stralsund faience invites you to look and marvel, as do rare medieval ecclesiastical vestments. Many other highlights tell of the eventful history of the once so influential city on the Sound, of which it was said in the Middle Ages "...that it was a pearl in the crown of the Hanseatic League...". The largest and most beautiful room in the monastery is the summer hall. This magnificent hall impresses with its wonderful architectural design, which also includes a medieval vault painting. A wide variety of exhibits await visitors on the 1st floor. In addition to craft scrolls, seals and craftsmen's silver, there is above all magnificent furniture from different eras on display. Tableware made of glass and porcelain as well as household items made of copper and brass give an idea of the past splendor of bourgeois parlors. A special highlight are the astronomical and nautical instruments from the collection of Axel Graf von Löwen, who, as Governor General of Swedish Pomerania, bequeathed his unique collection, which also includes art objects of all kinds, to Stralsund in his will in 1761. Accessibility Guided tours for people with visual impairments Guided tours for people with cognitive impairments Guided tours and offers for people with dementia Barrier-free access

Schill memorial plaque

Schill memorial plaque

Stralsund

This stone commemorates Ferdinand von Schill, a Prussian officer who fought against the French occupying forces in Stralsund. On May 25, 1809, Ferdinand von Schill rode into the town of Stralsund at the head of his regiment. A few days later, the freedom fighter fell here in Fährstraße, fatally shot by a bullet. On the night of May 31, 1835, his admirers embedded this memorial plaque in the pavement at the exact spot where Schill had fallen.

Putbus Castle Church

Putbus Castle Church

Putbus

The castle church in Putbus Park Until 1840, Putbus was part of the parish of Vilmnitz. In this year, the parish acquired its own parish registers and its own churchyard was consecrated. Putbus became an independent parish. Over time, the need to create a separate church building grew. Initially, the theater was to be converted into a church. However, as this plan met with resistance from the residents, the Kursalon in the park was converted into a church in 1891/92 - the upper galleries were removed and their windows moved inwards, and the open arcades to the dance hall were fitted with windows. The result was a three-aisled church. A church tower was erected in place of the northern extension, while the southern extension retained its shape. The church was consecrated on Reformation Day in 1892 and the bells rang for the first time on July 12, 1893. The castle church is impressively different from the brick churches typical of the island. It is flooded with light, with large arched windows opening onto the park. It forms an impressive ensemble with the neoclassical buildings in the park and in the adjacent streets.

Putbus Castle Park

Putbus Castle Park

Putbus

Although Putbus Castle, once the stately home of the Princes of Putbus, was razed to the ground in 1962, the beautiful castle park is still a reminder of this magnificent time. Magnolias and sequoias adorn the English-style garden. The park was laid out in 1804 by the founder of the town, Wilhelm Malte I zu Putbus, originally in the French style. It was later developed in the style of an English landscape park. The classicist palace around which the park was laid out was unfortunately demolished in the 1960s. The orangery, the stables, the mausoleum, the parish church and the castle church as well as the monkey and bird house are still preserved. Then as now, Putbus is not only famous for its castle and circus, but also for its scenic surroundings. It is not surprising that even Caspar David Friedrich visited the Putbus region. He incorporated the impressions he gained into his paintings "A View of Putbus" and "Landscape with Rainbow", for example.

Lesser spotted eagle course

Lesser spotted eagle course

Schuenhagen

on the grounds of the Schuenhagen forestry office On the grounds of the Schuenhagen Forestry Office, visitors can learn on the lesser spotted eagle trail what habitat the lesser spotted eagle needs, how to recognize it in the sky and what long journey the eagle makes to its wintering grounds in Africa. The trail is free of charge, freely accessible all year round and designed to be exciting for children and adults alike. You are also welcome to take part in guided tours. Since 2022, there has also been a new nature trail to discover behind the forestry office. In the so-called "Müß" - a natural forest that is left to develop naturally - a path with 7 different stations leads through the world of tree species. The Schuenhagen forestry office, which covers an area of almost 20,000 hectares and is located between Ribnitz-Damgarten and Stralsund, is home to a significant number of lesser spotted eagles throughout Germany. Germany's smallest eagle still feels at home in the dense forests of the "Nordvorpommersche Waldlandschaft". Here it can raise its young in peace and catch mice and frogs in the surrounding meadows. The Schuenhagen Forestry Office has been supporting the chance.natur project "Nordvorpommersche Waldlandschaft" (North West Pomeranian Forest Landscape) from the very beginning, which has set itself the task of preserving this special animal species and protecting its habitat. There is a lot to discover on the grounds of the historic forestry office!

The Greif Training Ship

The Greif Training Ship

Greifswald

Experience this historic schooner-brig on a day cruise or a multi-day voyage across the Baltic Sea, following in the footsteps of the Hanseatic League! The steel two-masted vessel with its characteristic square sails was built in 1951 at the Warnow Shipyard in Warnemünde and commissioned under the name “Wilhelm Pieck.” Until 1990, it served as the flagship of the GST Naval School in Greifswald-Wieck and conducted training voyages for young sailors.  After the political transition, the ship was completely overhauled and converted. Since then, it has been owned and operated by the Greif Maritime Sports Center, a municipal enterprise of the University and Hanseatic City of Greifswald.  Under the name “GREIF,” it sails as a civilian training ship with volunteer and paying crew members, calling at the most beautiful ports in the North and Baltic Seas from April through October: Ystad, Copenhagen, Klaipeda, Gdańsk, and other destinations are on the itinerary every year. A sail area of 570 m², distributed across 15 sails, allows for a speed of up to 14 knots. The ship is equipped according to the latest safety regulations and holds a sailing license as a training ship. It is sailed jointly by a professional core crew and volunteer crew members from the "Rahsegler GREIF e.V." support association. If you’re looking for a special experience, the “GREIF” is the place for you. By the way, no prior experience is necessary: the team’s experienced crew members introduce new sailors to traditional seamanship step by step. Welcome aboard!
