Devin Peninsula nature reserve - a natural gem on the outskirts of Stralsund
On the southern outskirts of the Hanseatic city of Stralsund lies the nature reserve and local recreation area of the Devin Peninsula with its striking elevation 23. Due to its varied geomorphology and rich flora and fauna, this landscape is one of the most beautiful and ecologically valuable in the entire region. Since 1993, 105.5 hectares of the peninsula have been officially protected.

The Devin Peninsula and its adjacent water areas are part of the Europe-wide Natura 2000 biotope network - a network that connects particularly valuable habitats throughout Europe. This makes the area part of a series of important protected areas along the German Baltic Sea coast in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, which also includes areas around Rügen, Fischland-Darß-Zingst and the Greifswald region.
How to get to the Devin peninsula in Stralsund
The Devin peninsula can be reached via the B 96 - from there you can get directly to the Devin district. If you are traveling without a car, you can easily take bus line 3 to the Devin district. Stralsund train station is well connected to the long-distance transport network and offers an ideal starting point for visiting the nature reserve.

This public toilet is located on the left-hand side in the Rathauskeller at the Alter Markt. It is not wheelchair accessible as it can only be reached via a staircase. This public toilet is operated by staff present. If you are on the Alter Markt, you will find the toilet on the left-hand side of the town hall. To reach it, go down a flight of stairs. You will find a disabled-accessible entrance in the foyer of the town hall Monday to Friday (not on public holidays). Access is via the north-east passageway - entrance in front of the bust of Gustav Adolf. Saturdays in Quartier 17 - with EURO key Sundays at the Neuer Markt
