Maidens' Fountain

The "Mägdebrunnen" was recreated in 2003 by the German sculptor Günter Kaden on the site of a historic fountain. Its design details have repeatedly inspired various interpretations. Here, where Schillstraße flows into Fährstraße in the direction of the harbor, a fountain "am Schilde" stood for centuries to supply the surrounding population with water. It was the task of the maidservants to fetch the water from the well and carry it to the patrician houses. The sculptor Günter Kaden took up this theme as part of an urban planning competition, won the competition and designed the fountain from a block of granite with a group of bronze figures in 2003. The bronze figures show three maids fetching water and whispering to each other.

By building the brasserie, the hosts are realizing their dream of sharing their love of good food and nature with other people. The fairytale garden brasserie in the middle of nature was lovingly built by hand and every detail was designed with the guests' senses in mind. Over the next few years, themed gardens based on well-known and not-so-well-known fairy tales will be created on the 3.5-hectare site. You are already welcome to stroll around the grounds with a glass of wine and enjoy the plants and diverse wildlife.

Café in the Ahrenshoop mill with its own bakery The "Kaffeemühle", a small café with a feel-good atmosphere, offers coffee in many variations, exquisite teas, delicious home-baked cakes from the tray, bread specialties and hearty soups and casseroles. A small flock of sheep can be observed from the café garden in the adjacent pasture. Reservations for private parties and events are possible.

Tessin Mill House

The mill house in Tessin now houses the city information office. The mill house is the oldest surviving half-timbered house in Tessin on the Old Market Square. After the great city fire of 1741, this house was also destroyed by fire, but it was rebuilt just one year later. The mill house remained inhabited for nearly 250 years before it was sold to the city. Following an extensive renovation in 1993, all original structural elements were preserved or restored to their original form. The building has been a listed historic monument since 1994. a wedding room worth seeing, the local history room (household items from grandmother’s time, historical pictures, tools from Tessin’s days as an agricultural town), and the Tessin Information Center. According to an old superstition, a symbolic mill was built into the gable of the house to protect against witches and evil spirits. A magical symbol meant to ward off spirits and witches should they attempt to make the house their ill-fated home. A visit is well worth it! Tribsees mill gate

The mill gate in Tribsees is one of two town gates that have been preserved to this day. The Mill Gate, also known as the Stralsund Gate, in Tribsees is one of the two remaining gates of the fortifications that surrounded the town. Built in the 13th century, the town gate was rebuilt after a major fire (1702) with some structural changes. The gate owes its name to a watermill that was located in the immediate vicinity until the 19th century.

Mühlenviertel Teterow

Historic ensemble of old town mill, mill pond and old fire station. In the middle of the historic town center, just behind the church, is the lovingly renovated mill quarter with the old town mill, mill pond and fire station. The old town mill was rebuilt after the great town fire of 1793 and was in operation as a compound feed mill until the early 1990s. After that, a comprehensive redevelopment of the mill district began. A restaurant and offices were built in the town mill, the mill pond was relined, the old fire station was given a new hose tower based on a historical model and the fire department set up a small museum with old fire-fighting equipment.

Minster Bad Doberan

The Cistercian monastery church from the 13th century has the richest medieval interior of any Cistercian church in Europe. On the "European Route of Brick Gothic" in north-eastern Germany, near the old Hanseatic city of Rostock, lies Bad Doberan Minster, the high Gothic church of the former Cistercian monastery built in the late 13th century. Founded in 1171, the monastery was the first monastery in Mecklenburg and the main burial place of the prince in the Middle Ages. Through its colonization activities, it was of great importance for the cultural and economic development of Mecklenburg and also became a center of Christian faith in the state. The special significance of the monastery was reflected in the construction and furnishings of the Gothic cathedral, which was built in the late 13th century. The interior decoration was largely spared the turmoil of war, iconoclasm and periods of renovation. No other Cistercian monastery church in Europe has preserved a richer original interior. The high altar, the oldest winged altar in art history (around 1300), the monumental rood screen cross altar (around 1360/70) and the tomb sculpture of the Danish Queen Margarete Sambiria (+1282) are noteworthy among the wealth of furnishings.

National Park Information The tranquil village of Blankenförde in the south of the national park is located on the busy Upper Havel waterway. The National Park Information Center is located next to the small half-timbered church in the former village school. Here you can find comprehensive information about the nature and leisure activities on offer in the region. Open at Easter and from May to October daily 10:00-17:00

Boek Manor House / National Park Information

+++ currently closed due to renovations +++ Barrier-free exhibition "The Fishermen of Boek" The Boek manor house was built in the first half of the 19th century as a two-storey plastered building with 13 axes and a central risalit. The history of the estate is marked by numerous changes of ownership. The National Park Ticket buses stop in Boek directly in front of the manor house. Before it was taken over by the German Luftwaffe in 1935, it was owned by the le Fort family. After the end of the Second World War, the Boek manor house was used for various purposes for decades. Today, the house houses a restaurant in the left wing and a national park information center, a village museum, a tin figure museum and a tin figure workshop in the other half of the building. In the exhibition "The Fishermen of Boek", all objects and contents are set to music and are tactile and accessible for wheelchair users.

Federow National Park Information

Learn more about the Müritz National Park here The Müritz National Park: famous for its white-tailed eagles and ospreys, as well as for the thousands of cranes that stop here in the spring and fall. The National Park Information Center in Federow is located about seven kilometers southeast of Waren (Müritz). A highlight is the camera that broadcasts live footage of the nesting activity at the nearby osprey nest into the center. The National Park Information Center in Federow also offers guided tours. Bicycles are available for rent. During the season, Federow is connected to Waren (Müritz) by the National Park Ticket bus line, which runs hourly. The information center is wheelchair accessible. Hours: Easter and May through October: daily from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Müritz balloons / The fascination of ballooning

The fascination of ballooning still captivates us just as much as it did the day the Montgolfier brothers first realized their dream of flying. Floating calmly and relaxed over the landscape, enjoying the unrestricted panoramic view... ... make ballooning so unique. Despite modern technology, the feeling of adventure has remained with us, as our route and speed are determined solely by the wind - well, almost. The pilot can also have a small say by choosing the launch site based on the weather forecast and finding the most favorable wind current by choosing the right altitude. We have a whole range of launch sites in and around Waren, Malchow, Röbel and also Teterow, Malchin, Güstrow, Mirow and Feldberg. This enables us to largely harmonize the wishes of our guests with the weather. Balloon flights take place early in the morning and in the evening, when the low sun allows the wind and gusts to calm down. In the cooler half of the year, when the sun is quite low, the launch time is closer to the middle of the day.

Müritz National Park

The Müritz National Park is the largest contiguous protected area in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and part of the Mecklenburg Lake District. It consists of two separate parts - one around the Müritz, Germany's largest lake, and one to the east near Serrahn. The landscape is characterized by forests, moors, lakes and vast meadows. Many endangered animal and plant species find a protected habitat here - including cranes, ospreys, white-tailed eagles, red deer and even rare insects and amphibians. 🥾 What can you do there? Gristow Nature Adventure Park

Scenic hiking trails, numerous rest areas and playgrounds, and various lookout points offering views across vast meadows and the Gristower Wieck on the Greifswald Bodden invite visitors to take walks and enjoy picnics. At the petting zoo and during pony rides, children in particular can get up close and personal with our four-legged friends. The park is located directly on the B105 between Greifswald and Stralsund and offers visitors rest and relaxation thanks to the scenic diversity of its approximately 70-hectare grounds. Around 300 animals call the park home in spacious outdoor enclosures. You’ll encounter a wide variety of domestic animal breeds, from A for aurochs to Z for goats. Many small animals, such as parakeets, rabbits, guinea pigs, and birds, can also be observed here. But it’s not just the beautiful scenery and animals that delight visitors of all ages. There are also petting zoos, adventure playgrounds with an observation tower, rope swings, climbing frames, and a traffic garden. Carriage rides and a bouncy castle (during festivals) provide excitement, play, and fun. Children’s birthday parties are a highlight for the little ones in our park. Treasure hunts and children’s games are organized by park staff upon advance registration. A large hall is available for your celebrations, and you have the option to rent barbecue areas in the park. Year-round, you can stay overnight at our lodging facility. Would you like to go fishing? A rowboat can be rented in conjunction with an overnight stay. Additionally, park festivals are held during the season, which have already become a tradition. A visit is worthwhile in every season. Your four-legged friends are also very welcome, but they must be kept on a leash.

Teschow Natural Swimming Area on Lake Teterow

Natural beach with occasional boat traffic The natural beach in Teschow, a neighborhood of Teterow, offers a great spot to stop and take a swim. Lake Teterow can be reached at this point by passing the golf course and walking through the well-maintained park grounds of Teschow Castle (LIMES Schlossklinik). There is a sunbathing area here. There are no restroom facilities or food service available. Upon request (please register with the boat captain), the Regulus ferry docks from May through September, Friday through Sunday, for sightseeing tours on the lake. The beach is not lifeguarded. A parking lot is located in town.
