Rossin Manor House

Classicist manor house under renovation, but already a place for culture and co-working space The manor house is a classicist manor house from 1836. The square plaster building was built in the palazzo style. The Rossin estate was once mentioned as one of the most beautiful estates in the Anklamsche district by Dr. Heinrich Berghaus in his "Landbuch Herzogthum Stettin 1865". Behind its simple façade, it reveals the remarkable artistic and cultural understanding of its builders. August Friedrich Theodor Kolbe built the building, in which four pillars flank the staircase and support the centrally arranged, octagonal glass dome. Like a sundial, the light passes through this dome into the spacious staircase. The building has been carefully renovated since 2020 and now serves as a venue for culture, events and as a co-working space. The south façade already shines in new splendor.

Schmakentin Manor House

Late classicist manor house near the Hanseatic city of Wismar Schmakentin in Mecklenburg Gutsland near Wismar is older than all the Hanseatic towns in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and was 800 years old on June 11, 2017. The late classicist manor house, which was heavily overbuilt and stripped of all ornamentation during the GDR era, is not a listed building. It was possible to prevent its destruction by purchasing it, and a non-profit association is working to restore it authentically and is committed to the preservation of ALL manor houses in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The part of the park in front of the house and the apple orchard have been largely restored and completed. The interior has been carefully restored to the state of 1841, when the last owner bought the estate and successfully managed it until 1845. The association offers antiques in the foyer. The "Schmakentiner Riesen" (walnuts) and old apple varieties are well known.

Manor house Sommersdorf

The manor house in Sommersdorf, formerly Alt-Sommersdorf, is located in the middle of the charming forest, meadow and lake landscape around Lake Kummerow. The Sommersdorf estate was owned by the von Maltzahn family, who had their headquarters on the neighboring Kummerow estate. The Rewoldt family is named as the last owner. After the previous building burned down in 1924, the building was rebuilt in a modified form. During the National Socialist era, the manor house was used as a "farm school for the training of young farmers' wives". After 1945, refugees initially moved into the manor house and it was later used for residential purposes. In 2005, construction work was carried out on the exterior façade and roof of the manor house. Today there are apartments in the house. A farm building is the headquarters of the Sommersdorf volunteer fire department.

Teutendorf Manor House

The manor house was built around 1800 by the von Flotow family in the Neoclassical style. The foundations date back to the 15th century. After the political transition, the Floto family reacquired the manor house, which they had originally purchased from the von Flotow family in 1903 and which had been expropriated after 1945. In 2000, they had it faithfully restored in accordance with historic preservation guidelines. Thus, the round-arched vaults were restored on the old foundations and expanded for use in celebrations. Surrounded by a beautiful 8-hectare park with a chapel and pond (ca. 1800), the house is now used as a residence. It is the birthplace of Friedrich von Flotow, arguably the most significant composer from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Thelkow Manor House

The Thelkow manor house now serves as a school camp. The history of Thelkow Estate dates back to 1358, when it was first mentioned in historical records. From the end of the 14th century, the Knights of Bassewitz owned the estate for more than 100 years before it passed to the von der Lühe family, who remained the owners until 1783.

Vollrathsruhe Manor House

In 1759, Vollrath Levin II Moltzan of Kirch-Grubenhagen became the owner of the Vollrathsruhe estate. The land was acquired under a hereditary lease. The former Maltzahn estate later passed to the von Tiele-Winkler family. The stately, Neo-Baroque manor house was built in 1920 on the ruins of its Baroque predecessor. A low connecting structure to a pavilion-like side wing is attached to the eastern gable end. The estate park features a chapel well worth seeing. Several farm buildings constructed of large granite stones, as well as sections of the old wall with remnants of a stable, still remain.

Alt Plestlin Estate Park

Alt Plestlin estate park on the Peene between Jarmen and Loitz The landscape park, which was created in the 19th century, incorporates the natural conditions with a slope to the Peene lowlands, a small pond, wet meadows and ancient trees. The park is open to the public, making it a worthwhile excursion destination for all cyclists on the small Peene cycle route between Jarmen and Loitz.

Dalwitz Estate Park

In the estate park, you can discover a monument dedicated to Sabine von Bassewitz (1716-1790). She was regarded by contemporaries as a "woman of great and rare talents". The manor house as you find it today has existed in its present form since 1726. Of the once baroque gardens you can still see the old avenue of lime trees on the castle rampart. A Caucasian wingnut and a leather tree have also grown to an impressive size. These two specimens at the foot of the moat cannot be overlooked. In the estate park, you can discover a monument dedicated to Sabine von Bassewitz (1716-1790). She was regarded by contemporaries as a "woman of great and rare talents". She was in correspondence with numerous scholars of her time, such as Johann Joachim Spalding and Voltaire, with whom she wrote about his Histoire de Charles XII, among other things. Her letters were admired for the "purity and elegance of style, the acuity, the acquaintance with our literature, and the heart of this rare woman". On a walk through the park behind the manor house, the landscape opens up. You can feel the peace and beauty of a unique park landscape. You can no longer miss the red blossoming chestnut tree at the edge of the moat, which was planted six years ago and is the landmark and logo of our Mecklenburg ParkLand. To the left, at the transition to the small pavilion island, a small Ginkgo biloba is trying to grow tall and a little further on, at the paddock fence, a tulip tree is trying to do the same. In the distance, the estate's cattle graze and the Criollo horses gallop across the pastures. The "estate's own" swan swims its laps on the water with its family. Here is a place to linger. Take a look over the fence of our farm garden, southwest of the gatehouse. This is where Das Gut Dalwitz grows flowers, herbs and vegetables for its guests and the restaurant. Guests are welcome to harvest the produce for their own use. The farm garden is lovingly and lavishly tended. The estate has only one request to its house guests: "Please do not feed the horses with the carrots or other vegetables growing there and do not harvest more than you really need and can eat here."

Gärtnerei am Gutshaus Parow - Nursery, Café & Vorpommernshop

Experience the revival of the Alte Gärtnerei am Gutshaus up close. Since 2017, a nursery that has been restored according to historical models has been combined with a community store of regional producers and an adjacent café in the manor house ambience to create a special excursion destination in the region. The "Gärtnerei am Gutshaus Parow" is a three-winged complex dating back to 1913, which was managed until 1974. In 2017, it was painstakingly restored to its original form by the municipality of Kramerhof in collaboration with the Storchennest youth center. Embedded in the listed manor house ensemble, you will discover a nursery with a greenhouse and a 4,000 m² kitchen garden and show garden based on a historical model to preserve and revive long-forgotten old fruit and vegetable varieties, especially from the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern region, and to introduce them to visitors. At the Gärtnerei am Gutshaus, the long tradition of cultivating small gardens and home gardens in our region is seen as part of our horticultural heritage. The appreciation of horticultural products and the wealth of species and varieties in our region is made visible here. The Vorpommernshop was opened in 2017. In addition to fresh fruit and vegetables from the nursery, it offers over 300 different regional products from the Vorpommern-Rügen district. There is an adjacent café with an outdoor terrace that invites you to linger in a natural atmosphere. HTM Peenemünde Historical and Technical Museum

In 1942, the Peenemünde Army Research Center successfully launched the world’s first rocket into space. Today, the Historical-Technical Museum documents one of the most spectacular—yet also one of the most dangerous—technical breakthroughs of the 20th century. Between 1936 and 1945, the Peenemünde Army Research Center was one of the most modern technology centers in the world. In October 1942, the world’s first rocket launch into space took place from here. From the very beginning, however, the research served only one purpose: to use advanced technology to achieve military superiority. It was only through the massive use of forced laborers, concentration camp inmates, and prisoners of war that the construction of the testing facilities and the subsequent mass production of the rocket—which Goebbels cynically called “Retaliation Weapon 2”—were possible in such a short time. Thousands of people lost their lives during production under inhumane conditions and during the bombardment of Belgian, English, and French cities with the “wonder weapon.” The ambivalence surrounding the use of cutting-edge technology is evident in Peenemünde as in hardly any other place. Together with the historical context, this forms the focus of the exhibition at the Peenemünde Historical-Technical Museum, which can be viewed in the power plant of the former Army Research Center—the largest technical monument in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Port of Althagen

The port of Ahrenshoop-Althagen is located on the north-western shore of the Saaler Bodden. Around 1900, a fortified landing stage was built on a side arm of the Saaler Bodden for the local fishermen and for the ferry to Ribnitz-Damgarten. From here, the fishermen from Ahrenshoop, Alt and Niehagen went out on their Zeesboats to fish on the Saaler Bodden. The harbor increasingly developed into an important traffic point for the connection between Ribnitz-Damgarten and Ahrenshoop, as a fixed road connection to the present-day district of Niehagen was not built until 1929. Today, the harbor is used exclusively for tourism. After extensive repairs to the bank reinforcements and a jetty for passenger ships, the harbor is now very popular as a resting place for water hikers. The harbor is home to passenger ships, local Zeesen and fishing boats as well as a fish restaurant with its own smokehouse. A limited number of guest berths are available on the northern and eastern shore. Public showers and toilets are available. Water and electricity are also available. Port of Altwarp

Altwarper Hafen is the northeasternmost port in the Federal Republic of Germany and is the border port to neighboring Poland. On the left-hand side, the port is used by the fishing cooperative. The fishing village of Altwarp is located directly on the coast between the Szczecin Lagoon and Lake Warp and is home to Germany's easternmost port. From the harbor, you have a good view of the Polish neighbor Neuwarp, which can be visited by passenger ship. The idyllic village is surrounded by breathtaking nature and vastness. Juniper heaths, pine forests, oak and alder woods and the famous shifting sand dunes make the nature park one of the most beautiful landscapes on the Szczecin Lagoon. Enjoy the maritime flair with the old fishermen's houses, visit the Dutch windmill, which was still in operation until 1950, or relax in absolute tranquillity on the small natural beach. Fish is a big part of the gastronomic offer here. It is served fresh every day in the restaurants and pubs. The inland dunes on the edge of the village are also worth a visit and invite you to linger.

Port of Barhöft

Barhöft harbor is located at the only access to the Bodden waters of Zingst-Darß-Fischland. It is about eight nautical miles north of Stralsund. Above the harbor basin, the former pilot houses bear witness to Barhöft's former economic importance. The port was modernized in the nineties of the 20th century. There is a direct bus connection to Stralsund and there are sanitary facilities, catering facilities and a barbecue area on site. The water depth is up to 5.7 m.

Port of Born

Embedded in meadows and forest, the romantic little village stretches four and a half kilometers from the Saaler Bodden in the west to the Koppelstrom on its southern side. During the season, passenger boats sail here daily to Prerow, Althagen, Fuhlendorf and Bodstedt. There are several newly built modern jetties in Born, and water sports enthusiasts are competently instructed by the Born harbour master at the municipal jetty. Due to its great commitment to the environment, the harbor has been awarded the European "Blue Flag" environmental award for several years. The harbor also has the "Yellow Wave" as a widely visible symbol - an award from the German Tourism Association and has been awarded three stars. Thatched houses characterize the townscape. The Barthe Strom can be accessed from the Barther Bodden. The port of Pruchten is located on the western bank of the Barthe Strom. The Pruchten landing stage is located on the west bank of the Barther Strom. It is approved for small fishing and sports boats. The approach to the jetty is not buoyed and should therefore only be used with knowledge of the area or with flat-bottomed boats. The fairway allows boats with a maximum draught of 1.4 meters to pass through. The Barthe is a popular water hiking and fishing area. The village of Pruchten is located around three kilometers north of Barth at the Meinigenbrücke bridge, the transition to the Zingst peninsula, meaning that both the Baltic Sea spa town of Zingst and the Vineta town of Barth with its diverse shopping facilities and cultural offerings are within easy reach. Near the harbor, a country bakery and ice cream parlor invite you to rest and enjoy. In summer there are weekly harbor concerts. Stahlbrode harbor is located on the western shore of Strelasund. The harbor has two harbor basins with over 60 berths. The facilities of the northern harbour were modernized in 1997. A car ferry connects the mainland with the island of Rügen (ferry Stahlbrode - Glewitz). The small fishing village of Stahlbrode offers its visitors a variety of attractions. Relax in unspoiled nature and enjoy the fresh sea air - sunbathe on the small natural beach or simply experience the maritime flair of the village. Thanks to its central location, the Hanseatic cities of Greifswald and Stralsund are ideal for excursions. You can also take a day trip to the island of Rügen by car ferry.
