Map ↗Steinbeck Farm Shop & Café
● Steinbeck
"Know where it comes from!" In addition to our sausage and meat from our own animals, which were raised on our farm, we also offer you a wide variety of products from the region. We are now the 3rd to 5th generation to run our farm and we feel completely committed to agriculture. The farm is divided into three branches: arable farming, dairy farming and our farm store with café. What began with the sale of meat has steadily developed to our delight, so that we now have a farm store where there is no shortage of regional foods and specialties. The farm café complements our range and is a great place to linger with a slice of homemade cake in the garden next to the grazing cows. Our heavenly cakes are particularly popular. Depending on the season, they are filled with sea buckthorn, raspberries, gooseberries, strawberries, blueberries or cherries. When it comes to our products, quality clearly comes before quantity. Ingredients are selected with care and are as regional as possible. All pies and cakes are baked by the "farmer's wife" herself every day. Products from our own production: Beef: fillet, goulash, roulades or pork: chops, fillet,... Sausage in a jar: liver sausage, Kassler liver sausage, red sausage, mettwurst and brawn as well as smoked mettwurst: with mustard seeds, garlic or mayonnaise Smoked meats: ham (nut ham, rolled ham, bacon,...) Milk: fresh raw milk from our cows every day And other products from the region such as: Goat's cheese, sheep's cheese and cow's cheese made by farmers, eggs from free-range hens, seasonal fruit and vegetables, sea buckthorn products, organic sausages, poultry, pasta (e.g. hemp-emmer wholemeal pasta, hemp-spelt wholemeal pasta, spätzle made from emmer flour, whole egg pumpkin seed pasta), spreads, mustard, tea

Wismar Swedish heads
● Wismar
The Swedish heads are the town's landmarks and are a reminder of the time when Wismar was occupied by the Swedes. The Swedish heads are two busts of Hercules painted in baroque style in front of the tree house in the Old Harbour. The originals once stood on dolphins in the harbor entrance near Wendorf. After a Finnish barge damaged the heads in 1902, they were recast true to the originals and put back in the same place a year later. The origin and significance of the Swedish heads cannot be clearly proven. It has been proven that in 1672 a pole, namely the outermost one on the harbor boundary, was referred to as the "Swede" and that the two heads were put in place at the beginning of the 19th century to commemorate the Swedish period. It is highly probable that the two originals were rudder heads and were once part of the sculptural stern decoration of a ship.
