Olivia Althaus-Apmann has been producing and presenting her collections in the "Landhaus Apmann" in the Schaalsee biosphere reserve since 2004: individual pieces made of fine leather in nappa and velour, high-quality wool and cashmere fabrics, Australian, Spanish and New Zealand lambskins, combined with modern high-tech materials. "The beauty of the Mecklenburg landscape is combined with the materials we use to create a special fashion and home collection," says Olivia Althaus-Apmann, explaining her overall concept: "Completely individual and geared entirely to the customer's wishes." Jackets, coats and costumes are created after a detailed type consultation: fashion has to suit the person! New collections are designed and patterns created in the spacious studio in the former hayloft. Olivia Althaus-Apmann invites guests to seasonal events and presentations here. The showroom is designed with selected accessories from small partner manufacturers and large-format paintings: a total work of art of fashion, living and floral design. In addition to the school area, the preserved cultural heritage also includes the areas of rural life, family, work and leisure. A wide range of exhibitions and collections (from the development of Protestant religious education, to the rural school in the 19th century, to the history of schools under National Socialism and the GDR), inform you about the importance of education for people and the influence of the elites and the state. The "Little Lighthouse" in the south of the island of Hiddensee In the south of the island of Hiddensee, on the Gellen, stands the Gellen lighthouse, built in 1905. Because of its location on the island, it is also known as the "South Lighthouse" and, due to its small size of just 12 m in height, as the "Little Lighthouse". It was built from red and white painted iron segments on a stone base. A cross beacon is a fixed light that flashes evenly in the dark and shines in a 360 degree radius. The light of the cross marker light is used by coastal shipping as a signal for navigating the Gellenstrom fairway from the Baltic Sea towards Stralsund.

The Darßer Ort Lighthouse is located on the unique West Beach at the northernmost tip of the peninsula. It stands in the heart of the Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft National Park and can be reached on foot or by bike through the unspoiled Darß Forest. The brick tower, just under 36 meters high, was built in 1849 and is one of the oldest lighthouses on the German Baltic Sea coast. For a fee, visitors can climb the 134 steps and 35 meters in elevation to enjoy a breathtaking view of the Baltic Sea and the surrounding natural landscape.

The Timmendorf Lighthouse is one of the landmarks of the island of Poel and one of the oldest 19th-century lighthouses still in operation. Visitors arriving from the sea first see the Timmendorf Lighthouse. The beacon was first put into operation in 1871 and raised to its current height (21 m) in 1931. As a navigational aid at the entrance to the seaport of the Hanseatic city of Wismar, the lighthouse remains of great importance today for the increasing maritime traffic. A second, smaller “lighthouse” stands west of Gollwitz, in the north of the island of Poel.

Warnemünde lighthouse

The Warnemünde lighthouse is 31 meters high and made of white glazed bricks. The tower's galleries offer a magnificent panoramic view of Warnemünde, the Baltic Sea and the beach. Built in 1897/98 as a sea mark, it not only helps ships on their way into the harbor, but has also become the landmark of the seaside resort. At the foot of the lighthouse stands the Teepott, a round building with a curved roof, which was built in 1967/68. Cafés and restaurants offer a unique view of the beach and sea. The tower is decoratively designed with multi-colored veneer. It was built in 1897/98 and is said to have cost 95,000 marks at the time. Today, the Warnemünde Lighthouse Association looks after the landmark.

St. Luke's Church, Graal-Müritz

The Protestant church stands between the districts of Graal and Müritz, surrounded by the cemetery and flanked by houses. It was designed by Gottfried Ludwig Möckel on behalf of Grand Duke Friedrich Franz IV and consecrated on October 18, 1908. Curiously, the tower does not face west, as is customary. The church in Graal-Müritz is a brick building; the tower is 26 meters high, and the total length of the church is also 26 meters. It is 12 meters wide. The nave is 15 meters long, 9.5 meters wide, and 8.5 meters high. The pointed barrel vault is reminiscent of a ship that has been pulled ashore and laid keel-up. Our church has three bells. A prayer bell inscribed with “wachet und betet” (watch and pray). It is the oldest bell and survived all the turmoil of war. Two bells that fell victim to the war in 1941 were replaced in 1952 with the inscription “Jesus lives and Jesus conquers” and in 1956 with the inscription “Marana tha—Our Lord is coming.” The organ was built by court organ builder Carl Börger from Rostock-Gehlsdorf. In 1953 and 1997, the pneumatic organ was expanded and overhauled by the firm W. Sauer from Frankfurt/O. Today, the church hosts Protestant services, cultural events, and exhibitions.

The Protestant church in Heiligendamm, actually a chapel, is a listed church building in Heiligendamm. The church was designed by architect Gotthilf Ludwig Möckel, who also supervised the construction. The church was consecrated on July 31, 1904. During the Second World War, a military hospital was set up in Heiligendamm, as evidenced by the graves of civilians to the left of the church. At the beginning of August 1943, the last service took place in the Protestant church for the time being. After a probable emergency bombing by British planes, the entire wooded area around the church was full of unexploded bombs and no one could get to the church safely. It was not until August 5, 1951 that the church, which had been completely looted in the post-war years, could be consecrated for services again. The Catholic church and the Lutheran church in Heiligendamm are also known as "forest churches". These churches are looked after by the "Verein zur Förderung der Waldkirchen Heiligendamm e.V.". The founders of the association are of the opinion that the Waldkirchen churches are a valuable asset to Heiligendamm.

Alejandro Quintana, director and actor, and Sylvia Bretschneider, actress and head of the theater group, have fulfilled their dream of having their own theater in an idyllic setting after many years at the Stadttheater. They are actively supported by the members of the theater group of the Kulturverein Feldberger Land e.V.. "Die Bühnenlichter" are passionate amateur theater performers from Feldberg and the surrounding area. The theater group has existed since March 2017. In September 2017, "Reineke Fuchs" by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe premiered here, with Sylvia Bretschneider playing Reineke Fuchs and all the other roles in rapid succession. This was followed in September 2018 by Dario Fo's "Bezahlt wird nicht!" (co-production with Theater tri-bühne Stuttgart), performed by Susan Ihlenfeld and Sylvia Bretschneider and musician Tobias Thiele. The play was directed by Alejandro Quintana. In March 2018, "Die Bühnenlichter" staged their first play "Lysistrate" by Aristophanes. This was followed in November by "The Devil's Three Golden Hair" - a fairy tale for children and adults. The play "Christmas Eve" by Daniel Kehlmann with Alejandro Quintana and Sylvia Bretschneider is planned for September 2019. "Die Bühnenlichter" are rehearsing "The Imaginary Invalid" by Moliére, the premiere is planned for March 2020. The LuzinTheater's program is complemented by guest performances by other artists. From May to October, there is cinema in the theater on the last Monday of every month.
