Smallest gallery in Western Pomerania
📍 Volksdorf
The gallery offers children and young people from the surrounding area in particular a platform to have their say, strengthen their place in the community and support the fun of creating. In certain formats, such as exhibitions and workshops, vacation guests from nearby can also come into contact with the young artists. Who knows, maybe this will lead to creative art sponsorships? Children must be able to play an active role in shaping art and feel that they are important! Galleries are important public spaces. Here, people of all ages and social classes can come together who otherwise hardly ever meet in everyday life. Exhibitions will be held here at regular intervals in conjunction with a vernissage. Artist Paul Torsten Hahn and his partner Sabine Berendse are responsible for the project: "We want to show young people that we want them to be part of society and democracy and that we are interested in them." Of course, young and young-at-heart vacation guests can also visit the gallery and talk to the young artists at one or other of the events.

📍 Greifswald
Gaff-rigged ketch and schooner, seaquat and ram ship, cruiser and dinghy - around 45 old ships characterize the image of the museum harbour in Greifswald, which was founded in 1991 following the example of the museum harbours in Flensburg and Hamburg. This was the Hanseatic city's response to the increased interest in historic ships and traditional seamanship. As part of the old city harbour, the museum harbour stretches from the Steinbeck Bridge to the old granary and characterizes the maritime flair of the Hanseatic city. The oldest ship that visitors can admire in the museum harbour is the Zeesboot "Pommerland" from 1880. www.museumshafen-greifswald.de lists all the ships moored here. 15 of them offer excursions and sailing trips. You can also take part in the annual gaff rigging. By the way: The Greifswald Museum Harbour Association also organizes group tours of the museum harbour and the museum shipyard, where old ships are restored, on request.
Maidens' Fountain
📍 Stralsund
The "Mägdebrunnen" was recreated in 2003 by the German sculptor Günter Kaden on the site of a historic fountain. Its design details have repeatedly inspired various interpretations. Here, where Schillstraße flows into Fährstraße in the direction of the harbor, a fountain "am Schilde" stood for centuries to supply the surrounding population with water. It was the task of the maidservants to fetch the water from the well and carry it to the patrician houses. The sculptor Günter Kaden took up this theme as part of an urban planning competition, won the competition and designed the fountain from a block of granite with a group of bronze figures in 2003. The bronze figures show three maids fetching water and whispering to each other.

Rokitta's coffee manufactory and farm store
📍 Gremersdorf-Buchholz
Taste the difference! Here, the product does not come off the production line. Here, they are made with heart and hand. We, Nadin and Oliver Rokitta, want you to experience coffee in a wonderful way and enjoy it at home. All our coffees are top-quality coffees or specialty coffees, as they are called in English. This means that the coffee always scores at least 80 points on a quality scale of 0-100 points. Only 5% of the world's coffee ever reaches this quality level. So you can really say that our coffee is world class. Roasting, beans, quality and aromas play a decisive role in ensuring that we can proudly offer you a really good coffee. However, all this becomes secondary if we cannot also proudly say that our coffee is grown under good conditions and that we support many local social projects. Freshness is also crucial for the right taste of the coffee. Because only freshly roasted coffee has a particularly fine taste and aroma. That's why we roast our coffee slowly and gently in our own coffee roastery on the Baltic coast, so that each bean can fully develop its own character. You can see how fresh our coffee is from our packaging, which is all fitted with a valve so that the coffee can still outgas. You can buy various coffee makers, coffee cups, candles and beautiful Swedish and Danish home accessories to go with your coffee in our farm store. We also offer wine and sparkling wine from Baden Württemberg, once from a small winery run by women and sparkling wine from Germany's oldest sparkling wine producer. Come and browse without obligation and watch us roasting (opening hours on the website) or visit our online store.

STRALSUND MUSEUM St. Catherine's Monastery
📍 Stralsund
CURRENTLY CLOSED DUE TO CONVERSION The first museum in the Hanseatic city of Stralsund was founded in 1858 and opened a year later as the "Provinzialmuseum für Neuvorpommern und Rügen". It is also the oldest museum in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Exhibitions on prehistory and early history, urban history, folklore and naval history are presented in three listed buildings. The most beautiful and at the same time most valuable exhibit is the gold jewelry from Hiddensee found in 1872-74. Founded in 1858, the museum is housed in the former Dominican monastery of St. Katharinen in the heart of the listed old town. Two gold treasures from the Viking Age can be admired here, of which the gold jewelry from Hiddensee is not only legendary, but also world-famous. Artistic Stralsund faience invites you to look and marvel, as do rare medieval ecclesiastical vestments. Many other highlights tell of the eventful history of the once so influential city on the Sound, of which it was said in the Middle Ages "...that it was a pearl in the crown of the Hanseatic League...". The largest and most beautiful room in the monastery is the summer hall. This magnificent hall impresses with its wonderful architectural design, which also includes a medieval vault painting. A wide variety of exhibits await visitors on the 1st floor. In addition to craft scrolls, seals and craftsmen's silver, there is above all magnificent furniture from different eras on display. Tableware made of glass and porcelain as well as household items made of copper and brass give an idea of the past splendor of bourgeois parlors. A special highlight are the astronomical and nautical instruments from the collection of Axel Graf von Löwen, who, as Governor General of Swedish Pomerania, bequeathed his unique collection, which also includes art objects of all kinds, to Stralsund in his will in 1761.
