Twin mills New Vorwerk
● Boddin
The twin windmills of Neu Vorwerk are a unique technical monument. The two Dutch windmills standing close together form a landmark of our country. Situated in Mecklenburg Switzerland, you have a fantastic view of the vast landscape. Cranes breed here and eagles fly their circles. Its very origins make it special. The small earthen hut was erected in 1849 so that the windmill could be seen as an ornament from the window of the manor house, just like in the Prussian Sanssouci Palace. The large gallery windmill, built in 1949, was the last new windmill to be built for commercial milling in Germany!!! In operation until 1991, it is today one of the very few windmills in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern with fully preserved technology. As a major goal, the mills are being restored as a functioning technical monument. In the future, the blades of the Great Mill will once again turn regularly. This will allow future generations to experience how grain is turned into flour with the help of the environmentally friendly natural power of the wind. Even though the mill is still being renovated, it can already be visited today: >>>> Mill Day, Whit Monday >>>> Heritage Day, 2nd weekend in September If you would like to visit on another date or even support this project, just get in touch. I would be happy to show you around. Small mill >die Lütte Year of construction: 1849 Type of building: earthen hollow Mill builder: unknown (all documents with the archive of the von Oertzen family destroyed in 1945) Technology: almost the last mill in the country with a classic wooden drive!!! darßtour - Sea kayak tours on the Baltic Sea and Bodden
● Ostseebad Prerow
The fascination of sea kayaking on Fischland-Darß-Zingst. We have been a national park partner from the very beginning and offer guided day tours on the Baltic Sea and Bodden. Experience the intoxicating beauty of nature in the national park with like-minded people. We will show you the hidden places with their quiet secrets. Experience the weightlessness of the moment The Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula - surrounded by the Vorpommersche Bodden and the Baltic Sea - is one of nature's most beautiful and exciting locations. The battle between the elements takes place here on an open stage, unbridled, unadulterated and unimpressed by the haste of our world. Here, growth and decay become tangible. The Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft National Park is an extremely rare and highly endangered ecosystem. Located in the lee behind the peninsulas and islands, it is considered a health resort, an indispensable resting place for many animals on and in the water. The Darßtour sea kayak tours are suitable for experienced paddlers as well as beginners and families with children. The tours start at different starting points on the peninsula, Hiddensee and Rügen. The wide expanses of water have a calming effect and open the soul to the seemingly unspectacular details. The tours will give you strength that you will draw on for a long time.

The stone main building in the courtyard, constructed around 1287 and adjoining the city wall via a later extension, is considered the best-preserved medieval noble residence in a northern German city. Despite later alterations from the 16th through the 19th centuries, the medieval architectural form is still clearly recognizable. The house has been owned by the Stralsund Merchants’ Guild since 1493. The hall of the main building was used for gatherings and celebrations. Long-term renovation work is currently underway.
former Latin school
● Stralsund
A two-story brick building that served as the sexton’s house and Latin school at St. Nikolai. Toward the middle of the 14th century, this narrow, elongated, two-story brick building was constructed southeast of St. Nicholas Church as part of the churchyard boundary. It served as a sexton’s house, but also as a Latin school at St. Nicholas. It is the most significant surviving example of this type of school building on the Baltic Sea, where the sons of merchants acquired basic skills for trade. The valuable medieval structure was carefully restored during the renovation in 1994–95. The narrow northern side, with its pilaster gable, is particularly worth noting.
first mecklenburg porcelain manufactory - Kerstin Behrens
In Sukow in the Lewitz nature reserve, porcelain painter and designer Kerstin Behrens lets you look over her shoulder in her workshop." Only 14 kilometers away from the state capital Schwerin and yet in the middle of nature: "This is where I find the motifs for my decorations on tableware and accessories: local trees, grasses, flowers and insects. But the proximity to the Baltic Sea and the Mecklenburg lakes is also important to me: I also work fish and sails into my objects as sculptural motifs." Even as a schoolgirl, Kerstin Behrens worked in a branch of the Boizenburg tile factory, and her desire to complete her training in the stronghold of porcelain, the State Porcelain Manufactory in Meissen, was clear from an early age. This was followed by design studies in Heiligendamm: "I want to continue the Meissen tradition, but I am looking for my own artistic expression." This also includes hand-painted unique pieces according to customer wishes. And so the range of expression is enormously broad: from clear Nordic elegance to dancing herrings. The special firing technique produces hard porcelain, which is as hard as diamond and is therefore also used in laboratories. Thin-walled, shimmering white, filigree objects are created: "I have designed lanterns with motifs of local leaves, in which the candlelight makes the porcelain appear almost transparent: Dandelion, oak or lime leaves made of light." Painting on the porcelain also creates an interplay of light and color: "The high white content of the porcelain allows me to paint on it like on paper. This gives me the opportunity to make the colors very fine, bright and transparent." Kerstin Behrens is happy to pass on her enthusiasm for porcelain painting to her visitors: "In my courses, participants can create their own small works of art from porcelain, discover their painting talents and get to know the work in a porcelain manufactory in a very practical way." Opening hours: Mon-Fri 4pm - 6pm, Sat 10am - 6pm
