Steffi's farm store offers regional products from local farms, including fresh eggs, coffee from the Bargeshagen coffee factory and goat's milk ice cream from Glasin. Home-baked cakes are available on Sundays. Handmade products and seasonal events round off the offer. The farm café can be hired for private parties. Steffi's Hofladen was opened to the public at the beginning of 2023 on the farm of Zeitfrei Urlaubsappartments in the village of Steffenshagen and has since established itself as a regional meeting place. The small farm store offers a diverse range of products from local farms. The range includes fresh eggs, coffee from Braack Kaffeemanufaktur Bargeshagen, goat's milk ice cream from Glasin and a selection of handmade goods. The farm store is open three days a week: Wednesdays from 3-6pm, Fridays from 9am-12pm and Sundays from 2-5pm. On Sundays in particular, the farm store is transformed into a small farm café where home-baked cakes are served. The sun terrace invites you to linger and offers a view of the countryside. In addition to regular sales, various events take place on the farm throughout the year. These include, for example, an Advent market, a cocktail party to mark the Lord's Day and creative craft courses. These special events strengthen the connection to the region and create a varied experience for visitors. In addition, the Hofcafé is available for private celebrations. The rural atmosphere, coupled with the individual design options, makes it a popular venue for birthdays and smaller events. The combination of regional products and versatile use makes the farm store a special place to go in the village.

"Know where it comes from!" In addition to our sausage and meat from our own animals, which were raised on our farm, we also offer you a wide variety of products from the region. We are now the 3rd to 5th generation to run our farm and we feel completely committed to agriculture. The farm is divided into three branches: arable farming, dairy farming and our farm store with café. What began with the sale of meat has steadily developed to our delight, so that we now have a farm store where there is no shortage of regional foods and specialties. The farm café complements our range and is a great place to linger with a slice of homemade cake in the garden next to the grazing cows. Our heavenly cakes are particularly popular. Depending on the season, they are filled with sea buckthorn, raspberries, gooseberries, strawberries, blueberries or cherries. When it comes to our products, quality clearly comes before quantity. Ingredients are selected with care and are as regional as possible. All pies and cakes are baked by the "farmer's wife" herself every day. Stone box

Burial site from the Neolithic period around 3000 BC. With the introduction of agriculture and animal husbandry, a sedentary way of life began in the Neolithic period. The treatment of the dead also changed. From then on, burials took place either in simple earth graves or in specially constructed earth mounds with stone chambers. Remains of such a stone chamber were discovered in 1902 by woodcutters in the Hohes Holz hiking area near Teterow. The stone chamber was surrounded by a mound 18 m long and 7 m wide. The chamber's capstone was already missing. Shards of clay vessels were found during the investigation. In 2004, the site was scientifically re-examined and restored. The exact position of the stones could be determined on the basis of the traces left behind. The entrance to the chamber, which was only 80 x 100 cm wide, was via a flat stone at the western end that is missing today. This allowed the bones of the deceased to be laid there.

Ruschvitz Pebble Beach

The rocky beach at Ruschvitz invites you to take a hike over scree along low, steep banks, where there are many interesting finds to discover, such as seashells, fossilized sea urchins, or boulders. The impressive boulders from the Ice Age are a popular subject for painters and photographers. As early as 1806, Caspar David Friedrich found himself surrounded by thousands of stones on the beach at Ruschvitz during a trip to Rügen. Very close by, in the northwest of the Jasmund Peninsula, on the rocky beach at Ruschvitz, lies one of Rügen’s largest boulders: “Svantekas.” The name comes from Old Slavic and roughly translates to “holy stone.” Measuring about 18 cubic meters, it bears witness to the remarkable power of the Ice Age.

Stargazing Spot - Kurwald, Krakow am See

Krakow am See is one of the municipalities in the Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heide Nature and Star Park—the first certified star park in northern Germany. Its international recognition as an “International Dark Sky Park” was officially confirmed in late 2025/early 2026. The Star Park encompasses 16 municipalities in the Mecklenburg Lake District and is characterized by very low light pollution, vast forest and lake landscapes, and a population density of only about 9 inhabitants per km². As a result, exceptionally clear starry skies are visible there—including the Milky Way, which can be seen with the naked eye under good conditions. In and around Krakow am See, there are several official stargazing spots equipped with lounge chairs, information boards, and themed stations. The certification was granted following years of measures to combat light pollution. These included, among other things, the conversion of approximately 600 streetlights to shielded, night-friendly lighting systems. The Krakow am See Health Forest is located northeast of the town of Krakow am See, on the Jörnberg, Emkwerder, and Lehmwerder peninsulas. It covers an area of about 18 hectares and is bordered by Lake Krakow, the buildings along Möwenweg, and the edge of the stadium’s embankment. The location of the Kurwald is marked by a black line with dashed strokes on one side, with the dashes pointing into the area. The boundary of the Kurwald is archived and may be viewed by anyone free of charge.

From Krakow am See via the Mölln district or via the B103/L37 coming from Plau am See toward Bossow, take the Oberseeweg exit toward Krakow am See, then follow Oberseeweg for about 2 km to the Dr. Neubauer Blick observation platform.

Sky full of stars - Discover the night: The star park as a nature experience. You might think the world has come to an end here. With so little light on the last few meters to Hellberg, you can guess the path more than you can see it. And that's good, because it prepares your eyes for what's to come: the Milky Way in the starry sky. What otherwise remains hidden from us because of all the lights can be experienced at the stargazing spots in the Nossentiner/ Schwinzer Heide Nature Park. Ten such places have been set up - equipped with information boards, 3D representations of a constellation and wooden loungers. If you like, you can be guided through the night sky by a podcast. Simply scan the code on the lounger and listen. Wrapped up in a warm blanket, you can enjoy the panorama of the almost black firmament. And with a bit of luck, you might catch a shooting star or two.

Greifswald Observatory

The Greifswald Observatory is the largest observatory in the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It was founded by Andreas Mayer and Lambert Heinrich Röhl. Since 1992, the association has been maintaining and modernizing the historic Carl Zeiss instruments under the dome of the old Physics Institute, where a 40-cm reflecting telescope and a 20-cm refracting telescope are available. In 2001, the minor planet 10114 (RZ 1992) was named “Greifswald” by its discoverers, Lutz Schmadel and Freimut Börngen. With the Johannes Conrads Award, the association aims to inspire the hearts and minds of the next generation for astronomy. Important historical observations: Venus transits in 1761 & 1769 as well as 2004 & 2012.

There are clean restroom facilities right on the beach, so you’ll have everything you need. If you need a bite to eat, the Strandläufer restaurant is the perfect spot: Not only does it offer delicious takeout meals, but you can also dine on the spacious terrace with a magnificent view of Lake Müritz and enjoy the seaside atmosphere. For those who prefer a bit more shade, a few trees on the beach offer pleasant spots to retreat—perfect for a short break surrounded by greenery. Whether you’re sunbathing, swimming, or just relaxing—the beach in Klink is a real highlight for young and old alike.

Altefähr seaside resort beach

Rügen's youngest and only seaside resort with a south-facing beach and a unique view of the Hanseatic city of Stralsund. The beach, which was redesigned in 2014 in the youngest seaside resort on the island of Rügen, is located directly on the Strelasund and is suitable for water sports enthusiasts and anglers. The south-facing location allows you to spend many hours in the sun and enjoy the uniquely beautiful view of the silhouette of the Hanseatic and World Heritage city of Stralsund, especially on summer days. No other place offers such a striking view of the Rügen Bridge, shipyard hall, churches and warehouse district on the harbor island with the Ozeaneum. In addition to a bathing staircase near the playground, there is a bathing ramp further on, which also gives wheelchair users the opportunity to bathe in Altefähr. This is followed by an area 35 meters wide, which was created as a natural beach between rows of groynes. A gentle bathing shore has been created here, which also allows small children to swim and play safely in the shallow water area. Futuristic sun loungers invite you to sunbathe. Separated from these three entrances by a large nature conservation meadow are the dog beach and the open beach area on the steep bank, which offers nudists undisturbed bathing opportunities. Thanks to the special bathing ramp, our beach is ideally suited for use by bathers with walking difficulties. The beach is guarded by the DLRG. The distance to the parking spaces for people with disabilities is 200m. A barrier-free WC is located directly on the beach promenade (Euro key required). A wide range of beach catering is provided by the local restaurants.

Sommersdorf beach

A wide sandy beach, several bays and usually a light breeze await you on the western shore of Lake Kummerow. You can enjoy breathtaking sunsets from here. This beach is particularly attractive for the little ones, as a small river runs right across the beach into the lake, making it ideal for building bays, water castles and moats with their parents. Beach in Gahlkow

The beach in Gahlkow is a popular spot for kitesurfing and surfing on the Greifswald Bodden. The beach in Gahlkow, near the bungalow complex, is a favorite starting point for windsurfers. Here, too, you’ll find a beautiful, expansive natural beach with a narrow strip of sand. The “Boddenblick” restaurant is only 200 meters away (no public restrooms). There is a small, shaded parking lot on the beach.

The beach directly in front of the picturesque Klink Castle boasts a unique location and a particularly family-friendly atmosphere. A small playground ensures that even the youngest visitors get their money's worth. There are public toilets near the beach, and if you get hungry, there are several options to choose from: There is a snack bar for a quick bite to eat right next to Klink harbor. A little further on, there is an Italian restaurant serving pizza, pasta and more - with a view of the water included. Not far away, there is also another playground with an exciting zip wire, which is particularly popular with children. Whether for splashing around, playing or simply enjoying the view of the Müritz and the castle - the beach in front of Klink Castle is a perfect destination for the whole family.

Broda Beach

The Broda Beach is located on the beautiful Lake Tollense, on the northwest shore in the “City of Four Gates,” Neubrandenburg, and has been awarded the Blue Flag multiple times. This natural swimming area remains free of charge for all visitors. It features a lifeguard-patrolled beach, restrooms, sunbathing areas, playgrounds, volleyball courts, and even basketball courts. There’s something for everyone, and thanks to the beach restaurant, no one has to go hungry. The water quality is checked regularly, and during the season, the facility is maintained and kept clean by professional companies.

Bathing area at Lake Kritzow - lifeguards The tourist bathing area is signposted on the B 191 from Lübz to Plau am See. There is a large sunbathing lawn with facilities for playing volleyball and table tennis. There is a water slide for special bathing fun. You can bathe, swim and splash around in the cordoned-off non-swimmers' area. During the season, a lifeguard ensures the safety of bathers. The beach area offers good play opportunities for children. A snack bar with changing area and toilets are available. Open from June 15

Eldena lido

With around 6 hectares of sunbathing area and a wide beach area, the Eldena municipal lido is particularly suitable for families. Thanks to its extensive shallow water zone, the lido on the Dänische Wiek is particularly suitable for families with children for bathing and swimming. It has a spacious sunbathing area with beach sand and grass, play equipment, ball sports facilities, modern sanitary facilities, snack bars and barbecue areas that can be hired. The sanitary facilities are handicapped accessible. The baths are open free of charge from mid-May to mid-September.

Malchow lido

Mirow Beach

The swimming beach in Mirow is within sight of the castle island. It offers good, family-friendly facilities. Visitors can travel to and from the beach via the Kleinseenbahn. The swimming area features a grassy field with both shaded and sunny spots, as well as seating. There is also a sandy beach area and a dock with diving spots. A lifeguard is on duty during the summer vacation season. Public restrooms are available on site, as well as a snack bar, a restaurant, and a children’s playground. The “Mirow” station on the Kleinseenbahn is located about 1 km from the beach. There is also a boat rental service on the premises.

Mönkebude Beach

Small but charming, the Mönkebude Beach invites you to relax. Spanning 500 meters, there’s a favorite spot for everyone: nudists have their own secluded area, beach chair enthusiasts have a clean, white canopy overhead, and there’s still plenty of room for beach tents, umbrellas, strollers, and more. With its shallow waters, this natural beach is a paradise for children; in the gentle waves, they can splash, play in the mud, and build sandcastles to their heart’s content. And afterward, they might want to explore the wonderful adventure playground, which—with its all-wooden play structures—is a highlight for little explorers. Meanwhile, the grown-ups can just do nothing at all except listen to the gentle lapping of the waves. In the evening, you get a gorgeous sunset thrown in for free.

Stralsund Beach

A stroll along the Sund Promenade takes you from the Old Town to the Stralsund beach resort in just 10 minutes. Here, the whole family can enjoy beach life to the fullest and a breathtaking view across the Strelasund to the island of Rügen. As early as the last century, the people of Stralsund had a grand dream: to turn their city into a renowned Baltic Sea resort. The first beach resort was established in 1922. Over time, the site underwent many transformations, from the creation of a fine sandy beach to the installation of sheet pile walls. Following the extensive renovation in 2010–2011, Stralsund residents and visitors now have 20,000 m² of the finest sandy beach at their disposal. While the little ones build sandcastles, dig in the sand, or explore the adventure playground, everyone else can relax on the numerous benches—truly an oasis for fun and relaxation! Since there are no parking spaces at the beach, public transportation or a bicycle is the best way to reach the beach. Bus line 4 goes to the “Klinikum am Sund” stop. From there, it’s just a few meters down to the water. Zarrentin lido

At 72 meters, the Schaalsee is the deepest lake in northern Germany. Many small banks around the lake invite you into the crystal-clear water. The well-equipped bathing area in Zarrentin has a slide, play facilities, snack bar and a nostalgic bathing hut. Due to its quiet location in the middle of the biosphere reserve and the rural region that surrounds Zarrentin, the lido is popular with bathers who want to escape the hustle and bustle of large outdoor pools, even in midsummer weather. A nostalgic bathing hut underlines the rural charm of this idyllic spot on the southern shore of Lake Schaalsee. In addition to plenty of space on the sunbathing lawn, the well-kept facility offers a somewhat secluded yet easily manageable playground. The beach is supervised in the afternoon when the weather is good. The outdoor pool is free of charge and open all year round from Mon-Sun. Due to its four decades of seclusion as a restricted area of the inner-German border, a number of endangered animal and plant species have been able to preserve their natural habitat at the Schaalsee. For this reason, bathing is only permitted at designated bathing areas.

There is a sales exhibition directly opposite the beach chair factory, which is open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm and on Saturdays by appointment.

in the Baltic seaside resort of Ahrenshoop The Gielow beach chair rental, founded by grandfather Otto Gielow in 1956 in the Baltic seaside resort of Ahrenshoop, is now in the 3rd generation of the family. It is advisable to book a beach chair in advance during the summer months of July/August. In this context, we would like to point out that there may still be delays of 1-2 days. You can reserve online immediately. However, this is also possible by telephone or post. Please refer to the blue window for the relevant dates. Please do not forget to specify the desired beach access. The baskets are distributed on the beach of Ahrenshoop from stairway 14 (Cafe Buhne 12) to stairway 4 (Helios Klinik, former rehab clinic). It is also possible to have the beach chair moved for an additional charge. Payment is made when the keys are handed over. A key deposit of €10 will be charged. If a beach chair has been ordered in advance, the key must be collected by 11.00 a.m. in Ahrenshoop at Dorfstr. 21, unless otherwise agreed.
