Not far from the town of Lelkendorf, you can reach the spring on foot through the middle of the forest after crossing two bridges. An adventure for young and old alike! Around 1830, two farmsteads were established between Neukalen and Lelkendorf. August-Friedrich Schnurstein bequeathed the property to his sons Ernst and Rudolf, known as Wittkopp and Schwattkopp. Ernst did not stay long; he sold his farm. Rudolf started a family and ran the farm until his death on September 18, 1973. Born in 1869, he thus lived to be 104 years old. Legend has it that he lived to such an advanced age because he drank “only” the iron-rich spring water that bubbled—and still bubbles—up from deep within his property.

The church, built from fieldstone and with a half-timbered tower added later, is a two-aisled hall church with impressive neo-Gothic furnishings. The oldest part, the choir, even dates back to the early 13th century. Be fascinated by the unusual ceiling paintings - their depictions are unique, and an accompanying exhibition invites you to discover their possible meanings. On the east wall you will find impressive frescoes from the 15th century - including the St. George fresco with St. George fighting the dragon. There is also plenty to discover inside: a wooden baptismal font from the 17th century, an expressive crucifix corpus from the 15th century and an altarpiece with the biblical scene of the resurrection of Lazarus. Music lovers will be delighted by the Lütkemüller organ - a valuable instrument from 1874 that is regularly played at church services and concerts. The Ankershagen church is not only a place of history, but also a place of tranquillity - it is a certified cycle path church and is located directly on the Berlin-Copenhagen long-distance cycle path. Since May 30, 2020, the Malchow Ice Rink has featured a 600-square-meter artificial ice surface, inviting visitors to enjoy a special ice-skating experience. This makes it the largest “Like-Ice” artificial ice rink in Germany and a special attraction in the vacation destination of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. In addition to ice skating, the curling rink also offers plenty of fun and variety. The rink offers attractive conditions year-round. In winter, it features a 30 x 60-meter ice surface. Those eager to learn can improve their skills in ice hockey and beginner skating courses (also offered in summer). The Malchow Ice Rink is the home venue of the Ostseeliga. The Fantreff offers snacks and drinks for athletes of all ages. A rental service for skates and helmets rounds out the offerings. The nave was completed in the 15th century, the belfry only in the 18th century. The Sietow church was built in the 15th century and the belfry was added later in the 18th century. The two parts of the church are separated by a triumphal arch and the original altar was replaced by a neo-Gothic carved altar. Since 2021, the church has been a venue for various events as a "storytelling church". The narrative church is a project of the Sietow parish and the Center for Church Services with support from the Tourism Fund. Coming to rest, being heard, being able to listen. This is what the storytelling church is all about, because our experiences, our lives, our world are collected in stories. They can open inner windows, they can touch hearts. They help us overcome the hurdles of everyday life. In the storytelling church, life stories, legends, fairy tales and legends are told alongside biblical stories. Evangelical Church in Feldberg

Church open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Luther Exhibition 2017: “Here I Stand—Origins—Lifestyle—New Beginnings—Outlook”; Evangelical Lutheran Church, built after the church fire of 1870 on what is now Kirchberg in Feldberg. Built in the historicist style between 1872 and 1875 in Feldberg, this cruciform brick basilica was designed by J. W. Richards. The 54-meter-high tower is visible from afar. The altarpiece features paintings of the “Ecce Homo” by Georg Kannegießer of Neutsrelitz. Incidentally, the Luzin Canal, which connects Haussee Lake with the Breiter Luzin, was constructed as a result of the church’s construction in Feldberg. Transporting the bricks, which were manufactured at the brickworks in Lichtenberg on the Breiter Luzin, was much easier and faster by water. During the summer months, the church is open to visitors.
