White bridges

The White Bridges form a short and idyllic connection between the Tribseer Vorstadt and Stralsund's old town. The two white bridges on the man-made Küterdamm are a popular tourist attraction. They span the Knieperteich, which is more of a lake on which you can take short tours in pedal boats or rowing boats. The path across the Knieperteich was once one of several trade routes and still leads through the Kniepertor gate into the old town. As part of the former city fortifications, the White Bridges are now a small recreational area and ideal for escaping the tourist hustle and bustle. Wiecker wooden bascule bridge

The Wieck wooden bascule bridge connects the two districts of Wieck and Eldena in the Hanseatic town of Greifswald. It was built in 1887 following the Dutch model. The bascule bridge crosses the River Ryck. The river flows into the Dänische Wiek, part of the Greifswalder Bodden. The bridge is only accessible to cyclists and pedestrians and is only opened when necessary. During the approx. 10-minute bridge crossing, visitors can observe how the old monument works.

The Yacht Club Strelasund e.V. club harbor is located on the southern part of the island of Dänholm. The more than 300 members of the club are involved in sailing and motorboat sports for cruising, leisure and racing. Children and young people have the opportunity to learn to sail in the Opti, OK and 420 boat classes. Berths are available for guests (for boats >10 m long or >3 m wide only to a limited extent) as well as sanitary facilities and parking spaces. The old town of Stralsund can be reached on foot, by bicycle or by public transport.
