Map ↗Edvard Munch House Warnemünde
● Rostock-Warnemünde
The Edvard Munch House is an old Warnemünde fisherman's house named after the Norwegian expressionist Edvard Munch, who lived in this house at Am Strom 53 in 1907/08 and spent an intensive creative period there. The Edvard Munch House is one of the few surviving fishermen's houses in Warnemünde whose age can be traced back to the 17th century. Around 1906, the pilot Carl Nielsen was the owner of the house at Am Strom 53, and the boatman Albert Nielsen and his widow Catharina Holtz lived with him in the modest home. In 1918, the fisherman Albert Harms bought the house and lived there with his wife and daughter Liselotte for the rest of his life. Liselotte Zander, née Harms, remained loyal to the house for the rest of her life. The last owner of the house died in 1990 at the age of 79. The Edvard Munch House is still on its historic floor plan today. The original layout of the rooms is still recognizable after the extensive restoration between 1995 and 1997. Today, in addition to an exhibition space, the house also houses two studios and apartments for artists.

Photography meets abstract painting and a touch of Prosecco
● Rostock
Photographer & painter. My photography is artistic and aesthetic, my painting colorful and abstract. Large format canvases and smaller formats as print or canvas. My name is Jana, a coastal child with plenty of seawater in her blood and a photographer for over 30 years. In my cozy photo studio, you can discover large-format canvas prints and abstract acrylic paintings over a glass of Prosecco. I love spending hours by the sea, listening to the waves with my camera or capturing the decay of old buildings. My photography is artistic and aesthetic, my painting colorful and abstract. I like to offer my feelings in my photographic works, whereas my painting is detached from the tendency towards perfection and inspired by color. Opening hours Whitsun: Sat 11am-6pm, Sun 11am-4pm Jan.-Dec.: Mon 9.30-15 h, Tue+Thurs 9.30-17 h

"Zum Bauernhaus Biestow" Inn
● Rostock
When you visit our restaurant, you’ll find yourself on the sprawling grounds of what was once one of the six large farms that shaped the character of the village of Biestow for centuries, centered around the church, the village pond, and the parsonage. Catering has been provided here for at least 260 years—as a rest stop along the freight route that once passed through here, as the village tavern for the residents of Biestow and the surrounding villages, and as a popular destination for day-trippers from the neighboring urban areas. Three cozy dining rooms and, in summer, a shady beer garden invite you to linger. You can take a relaxing break with coffee and homemade cake or a freshly tapped beer paired with delicious dishes from the farmhouse kitchen. We recommend following your meal with a short stroll through the idyllic, historic village center of Biestow.
Ghost forest Ostseebad Nienhagen
● Ostseebad Nienhagen
The "Nienhäger Holz", a 180-hectare mixed forest, is better known to locals as the ghost forest. The forest has acquired its unusual appearance over many years due to the salty and humid sea air and the wind. Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is rich in unusual natural landscapes. The thick-trunked Ivenack oaks in Mecklenburg Switzerland cast a spell over many visitors every year, while the windswept fugitives on Fischland-Darß-Zingst provide a perfect painting template for artists. Another special feature on the coast is the "Nienhäger Holz", a 180-hectare mixed forest that borders the Baltic seaside resort of Nienhagen and thus lies directly on the Baltic Sea. This protected forest is better known to locals as the "ghost forest". The uniqueness of the coastal forest lies in the bizarrely shaped deciduous trees. The picturesque deformations have been created over many years by the salty, humid sea air and the wind. The trees are mainly oaks, beeches, hornbeams and ash trees. A cycle and hiking trail runs through the ghost forest, which is a great way to explore the region.

Inka's art is known for this in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Tokyo, Miami and at www.Galerie-Inka.de. Inka's art is repeatedly praised by viewers for the positive, soothing aura that the individual works have. Vibrant colors, lightness and brilliance characterize Inka's paintings. The viewer is immediately drawn into a world of joie de vivre, flowing energy, power and dancing colors. This world of joy invites you to be touched, to be infected by its lightness, to linger in its brilliance. And this is exactly how one visitor described it at the vernissage on March 2 at the Bergen City Museum on Rügen, where the solo show "Inca: Retrospective of Half a Century" runs until May 28, 2024: "I went straight home after the vernissage and did nothing else there but sit quietly on a chair and enjoy these wonderful energies that I had soaked up from your pictures." The fact that Inka's artworks usually have an uplifting effect is partly due to the clear, strong colors. On the other hand, it is also due to the fact that Inka connects herself with positive, healing forces during the painting process and thus impregnates these energies into her works. For Inka, painting is an act of joy, sensuality and gratitude. Inka's works have been shown in 56 exhibitions in Germany, Switzerland and Italy, as well as in the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum and at the ARTBOX Project Miami 3.0. At KUNST:OFFEN 2024, Inka is participating in the collective exhibition at St. Spiritus in Greifswald, as well as at the Bergen City Museum. Inka's studio is also open all year round for interested parties by appointment. Please send your request to info@galerie-inka.de
