Especially in the fall, with a little luck, you can watch a special spectacle when the red deer follow their natural instinct and begin to rut. Wolf trapping facility Zwenzow

Wolf trapping facility Zwenzow - An informative place about the life of wolves and how they are dealt with in the region. There is a wolf trapping pit at the Großer Labussee lake near the village of Zwenzow near Wesenberg. When 22 sheep were killed by wolves in a stable in Userin in 1710, this wolf trap was built. After the wolves were exterminated, the pit fell into disrepair and has now been restored as a historical site. However, it is now so shallow that no animal can be caught in it. The pit has a diameter of around 4 meters and was originally so deep that no trapped wolf could escape from it. There is a pole in the middle of the pit to which bait was attached. Live chickens were also used as bait. The pit was then covered with brushwood, grasses and tree bark so that no wolf could get suspicious. If a passing wolf caught the scent of the bait, it tried to catch it. It then fell into the pit and was unable to get out. It was now easy for the farmers to kill the wolf. Interesting facts about wolves and their life in the region are listed on various information boards.

On secluded paths and trails I will take you to the most beautiful places in our magnificent landscape, where you will discover old post roads, mysterious ruins, hidden lakes, crumbling bridges, old oak avenues and enjoy wonderful views. most walks take about two hours and are also suitable for children (from about 5 years), the elderly and the inexperienced. On my short hikes, we explore old post roads, abandoned ruins, hidden lakes, flowering meadows with old fruit trees, impressive oak avenues, crumbling wooden bridges.... Breaks at beautiful places are planned, certainly with swimming opportunities in summer. Most of the tours are between 5 and 8 km long and are easy to manage for anyone who enjoys exercise. There and on various notices you will find the current dates (usually 2 to 3 hikes per week) and meeting points.
