The stately manor house with its high mansard roof was built in 1733 using the typical North German red clinker brick. Of particular note is the intricately crafted wrought-iron gate, which originally came from the Vollrathsruhe estate and received a special award at the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago. While in town, it’s worth visiting the Agricultural History Museum, which features exhibits on the history of large-scale agriculture east of the Elbe from the mid-19th century to the present.
Beseritz Manor House

The central projection with the coat of arms on the high gable is particularly striking. To the right, you can see the tower with its pointed, tile-covered spire. Johann August Schlettwein (a well-known jurist and economist) inherited the estate through his wife in 1784. In 1808, the Schlettwein family’s daughter, along with her husband Robertus, owned the estate. The estate remained in the family. Beginning in 1880, following a fire, Christian Graf von Bernstorff had the manor house rebuilt according to plans by Georg Daniel. After 1945, the manor house served as a residence. Today, it is used as a restaurant and for other cultural purposes.
Boek Manor House

+++ currently closed due to renovations +++ The Boek manor house was built in the first half of the 19th century as a two-storey plaster building with 13 axes and a central risalit. Numerous changes of ownership characterize the history of the estate. The National Park Ticket buses stop in Boek directly in front of the manor house. Before it was taken over by the German air force in 1935, it was owned by the Le Fort family. After the end of the Second World War, the Boek manor house was used for various purposes for decades. Today, the house houses a restaurant in the left wing and a national park information center, a village museum, a tin figure museum and a tin figure workshop in the other half of the building. In the exhibition "The Fishermen of Boek", all objects and contents are set to music and are tactile and accessible for wheelchair users.
Groß Gievitz Manor House

The restored manor house (main building) in Groß Gievitz was built around 1730 in the Baroque style. The manor house of the Counts of Voss has an interesting history. “Die Voss,” the incorruptible chief lady-in-waiting to Queen Luise, lived here. The house, with its beautiful estate park, dates from the first half of the 18th century. The stables, built as early as the 17th century, have also been preserved. Also particularly worth seeing is the massive 13th-century Gievitz Church with its murals from the time of its construction. The von Voss family’s burial vault was built according to plans by Schinkel. The Groß Gievitz estate had been owned by the von Voß family since 1652. The future Queen Luise, a princess of the House of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, was a frequent guest of the von Voß family at Groß Gievitz. In 1945, the von Voß family was expropriated. The manor house and the adjoining building were initially used to house refugee families. Later, the manor house served as a school. Today, the manor house is once again privately owned.

A classic estate complex, now once again in operation as a farm owned by the von Heydebreck family. The manor house was built in 1995—likely the first new structure erected after the war—on the same floor plan as its predecessor. Still preserved are the historic granary and the grain mill. A beautiful little English-style landscape park lies between the house and Keller Lake.
Luplow Manor House

Built around 1760, this single-story, 9-bay manor house with a two-story central risalit features a fully developed mansard roof. The exquisite Rococo stucco ceilings feature the heraldic animals—a fox for the owner, F.J. Christian von Voss, and a bear for his wife, Eva Juliane von Behr. Of particular note is a double-flight staircase in the hall. Luplow remained in the possession of the von Voss family for 600 years. Beautiful fieldstone church. The manor house is now privately owned and has been renovated in recent years.
Lüssow Manor House

The Lüssow Manor House (near Güstrow) was built in the late 18th century. In the decades that followed, it changed hands several times and underwent frequent renovations. It is currently undergoing restoration. The house was built by the von Driberg family, whose male line died out in the 19th century. It later passed into the hands of the von Bülow family. In the 19th century, a solid clinker brick facade was added to the building. A contemporary extension was also added. Numerous historical details have been preserved to this day. The house is one of the smaller manor houses in Mecklenburg. It was inhabited almost continuously and is therefore not as threatened by decay as other houses.

The manor house in Sommersdorf, formerly Alt-Sommersdorf, is located in the middle of the charming forest, meadow and lake landscape around Lake Kummerow. The Sommersdorf estate was owned by the von Maltzahn family, who had their headquarters on the neighboring Kummerow estate. The Rewoldt family is named as the last owner. After the previous building burned down in 1924, the building was rebuilt in a modified form. During the National Socialist era, the manor house was used as a "farm school for the training of young farmers' wives". After 1945, refugees initially moved into the manor house and it was later used for residential purposes. In 2005, construction work was carried out on the exterior façade and roof of the manor house. Today there are apartments in the house. A farm building is the headquarters of the Sommersdorf volunteer fire department.
Vollrathsruhe Manor House

In 1759, Vollrath Levin II Moltzan of Kirch-Grubenhagen became the owner of the Vollrathsruhe estate. The land was acquired under a hereditary lease. The former Maltzahn estate later passed to the von Tiele-Winkler family. The stately, Neo-Baroque manor house was built in 1920 on the ruins of its Baroque predecessor. A low connecting structure to a pavilion-like side wing is attached to the eastern gable end. The estate park features a chapel well worth seeing. Several farm buildings constructed of large granite stones, as well as sections of the old wall with remnants of a stable, still remain.

The pretty harbor below the Salem mountains awaits you for a trip on the "Forelle". Right next to it is the new bathing beach. If you are thirsty and hungry, you can dine above the harbor on the lakeside terrace with a view of the water.
