Radio play church Federow
● Kargow OT Federow
Germany's first radio play church invites you to Federow this summer. The village church, which was founded in the 13th century, stood unused for a long time until this unusual idea saved it from imminent decay. Visitors can take a seat on the simple wooden benches and listen. The children's program runs in the afternoon and there are radio plays for adults in the evening. Readings are also on the program. Listening to stories in a church is nothing really new. But in Federow, a community of 100 souls at the entrance to the Müritz National Park, it has a special significance. This is where Germany's first radio play church is located. Founded in the 13th century, the fieldstone church stood unused for a long time until an unusual idea saved it from imminent decay and transformed it into a radio play church. By the summer of 2006, the urgent renovation of the fieldstone church had been completed with funding from the EU LEADER+ program. In 2006, the radio play church received an award from the nationwide initiative "Germany - Land of Ideas". In 2011, the radio play church was awarded the honorary prize of the "Foundation for the Preservation of Ecclesiastical Monuments in Germany". The program is produced in collaboration with the German Broadcasting Archive Foundation and is supported by NDR, other ARD broadcasting stations and numerous book, audio and theater publishers. The Hörspielkirche is a cultural partner of NDR Kultur and a cooperation partner of the Stiftung Deutsches Rundfunkarchiv. Donations - admission is free - are used to support the program.

St. John's Church in Mirow
● Mirow
The church, which houses the princely crypt, was built in the 14th century. The Church of St. John was dedicated to John the Baptist. Today, the eastern apse and the foundation walls with their Gothic windows are still visible. There are no records of damage sustained during the Thirty Years’ War, but at the end of the war, the church became the property of the principality. On September 4, 1742, the church was completely destroyed by fire after being struck by lightning. The church was rededicated on the first Sunday of Advent. A Baroque altar now serves as the focal point of the princely castle church. For €3.00, you can begin your ascent to lofty heights. The first floor features a small exhibition on the history of the Knights of St. John, which began in 1226. It traces the history of the Mirow Commandery up to the Reformation. It also illustrates how pastoral care was later provided within the Order of St. John and offers a glimpse into the future. If you climb a wooden staircase, you’ll reach a room that hosts small, rotating exhibitions. If you climb another flight of stairs, you’ll reach the belfry. Continue up the stairs, and you’ll arrive beneath the observation deck. There, the association has set up a small exhibition with interesting information on the history of the church and the association’s work. The final steps of the metal spiral staircase lead to the observation deck. From there, you have a sweeping view of the waters surrounding Mirow.

Kilian & Close - The chocolate manufactory
● Waren (Müritz)
Snacking at the highest level If you want to try a completely new experience and experience the difference between a sweet and a real cocoa, then visit us in our Manufaktur store in Lange Straße. We are one of the very rare bean-to-bar manufacturers in the whole of Germany - manufacturers who actually produce their chocolate from the fine cocoa bean. Our current range consists of organic cocoa that we import from South and Central America (Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala and Panama). We go into great depth not only when selecting the cocoa beans, but also when selecting all the raw materials we use. We always look for the best that Mother Nature has to offer. You will therefore find chocolate bars, pralines, small treats or even different types of chocolate ice cream in which selected fruits and nuts are processed, mostly of protected origin (Bronte pistachios, Perigord walnuts, Piemonte hazelnuts, etc.). Not only for lovers of high-quality and complex luxury foods such as wine, whisky or rum. But also simply for those who want something extremely tasty to nibble on. With us, a new world will open up to you - the world of genuine original cocoa; unique, complex and unforgettable. Visit us Monday - Saturday between 11:00 and 17:00 directly in the Waren city center.
