Jürgens Studio-Gallery

Jürgens Studio-Gallery

Wismar

You love painting. Then let us surprise you. Atelier-Galerie Jürgens is located in the south of Wismar, just a 10-minute walk from the market square. Atelier-Galerie Jürgens is located at Goethestraße 4, just a 10-minute walk from Wismar's market square. Manfred W. Jürgens, a representative of New Realism, presents a selection of his works in bright rooms and provides a glimpse of panel paintings currently in progress. In a world of chronic over-staging, Jürgens is in search of the concrete, of precision and clarity. When a pictorial idea flows through the soul via the experience in the eye and finds new formulation via the brush on the canvas, then that is pure painting! Fashions and trends are ignored. Realistic painting aims to depict things in life precisely as they are, without embellishment. But what is realism anyway? Experts argue about this question. After all, no matter how "lifelike" the artist may depict something, his painting always bears his own signature. All painting is an abstraction, and so is realism. Portraits of people and animals, still lifes and seascapes - deceptively beautiful and often disturbing. Opening hours: Jan.-Dec.: Mon-Sun 2-7 p.m.

Painting with anything that works: coffee, surface smoother, toilet paper, acrylic paints, synthetic resin binder, linseed oil, turpentine substitute, pigments. I am on the trail of the event. The impulse that makes me want to paint. Sometimes I pick something up, put it on the canvas - and it prompts me to do more. I could slow myself down to follow a previously conceived idea, but the idea is from yesterday, is no longer important, so I follow the new idea. Sometimes the idea and the new idea come very close and sometimes the idea dissolves into a new expanse. So every picture has its own story, its own path and its own context. Images convey experiences and connect emotions. That is why I would like to take you into the world of these pictures. Opening hours Jan-Dec: Fr+Sa 16-19 o'clock

Tree house

Tree house

Wismar

The tree house is a baroque building from the middle of the 18th century. The building with the two Swedish heads in front of the portal takes its name from the turnpike that used to be here. The eponymous "tree" was a floating long timber used to block off the harbor entrance. It was closed during the night or when danger was imminent. The Baumhaus am Alten Hafen in Wismar opened the permanent exhibition "Maritime Traditions Center" on 05.04.2019. The exhibition offers insights into the development of the Hanseatic city of Wismar during the Hanseatic era, the replica of the "Poeler Kogge", the restoration of the pilot schooner "Atalanta" and the fishing cutter "Marlen", as well as the eventful shipbuilding in Wismar with the development of the Wismar shipyard from 1946 to the present day. Impressive exhibits show the love for the traditional ships and the pride in shipbuilding in Wismar.

The Frische Grube is one of the oldest artificial watercourses in Germany that runs through a city. It connects Lake Schwerin with the Baltic Sea via the Mühlenteich, Wallensteingraben and Lostener See. Colors of Life

Colors of Life

Wismar

Art therapist and artist Kristin Damaschke presents “Lebensfarben” – art for the soul, a studio for mindfulness, abstract paintings, and unique pieces for women. As an artist, I draw inspiration from the powerful interplay of colors, shapes, and light to create works that touch the soul and inspire viewers to perceive life in a new way. In my studio “Lebensfarben,” I create abstract paintings that invite viewers to discover their own inner world and delve into the depths of their own feelings and thoughts. This art is more than a visual experience—it speaks to the soul, evokes emotions, and opens up new perspectives. My work is inspired by the beauty and diversity of life, by the tender and powerful moments that shape us. Every painting created in the studio is unique and reflects the diverse facets of human experience—from soft tones and harmonious color gradients to powerful, expressive forms. The works invite you to let yourself be guided by the dynamism and energy of the colors and to feel a deeper connection to your own self. I believe that art gives us the opportunity to see ourselves and our world in new ways. It opens doors to emotions that often remain hidden in everyday life and creates space for new ideas and inspiration. In my studio, the focus is on experiencing this art, feeling it, and allowing it to transform you. It is a place of inspiration, encouragement, and freedom—for every woman who wishes to unlock her inner strength through art. At the “Lebensfarben” studio, I offer women a space where they can rediscover themselves through art. For me, the creative process is a path to self-awareness and an expression of strength and individuality. My work is about inspiring women to unleash their own creative power and connect with their unique potential. Abstract art and light paintings are not only a visual delight but also a tool for discovering and expressing one’s own creativity. “Colors of Life” is an invitation to discover your own colors of life and to paint with them. Here, art becomes an experience that illuminates the moment and touches the heart.
