Sassnitz train station

The northeasternmost railroad station in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and the island of Rügen with a view of the lake. The railroad line from Bergen to Sassnitz was completed and put into operation in 1891. At that time, the station building was located in the village of Crampas and bore the inscription Crampas - Sassnitz. The terminus station Sassnitz (until 1993: Saßnitz) is located north of the town center and is designed as a terminus station. Regional trains arrive and depart here every hour, with connections in all directions. When you leave the station building, you are immediately captivated by the view of the sea.

Thanks to our own fishing fleet and close links with local fishermen, we bring the treasures of the Baltic Sea and Bodden waters directly ashore. Depending on the season, you can expect regional classics such as herring, turbot and pike, complemented by the finest specialties from all over the world. The journey couldn't be shorter: the catch is taken directly from the quayside to our in-house manufactory, which has been synonymous with first-class craftsmanship since 1991. This is also where our award-winning, certified herring marinades and salads are made - from spicy peppered herring to our legendary cod meatballs. The manufactory for certified organic natural cosmetics offers a wide range of natural cosmetic products that are developed, manufactured, packaged and sold in the manufactory's own store.beauty, cosmetics and body care as well as certified organic and natural, vegan and cruelty-free and pure beauty care. The essences of Rügen's diverse nature flow into every product and pamper the skin, hair and soul. In the collections - OSTSEEBRISE -, - DÜNENBRISE-, - SANDDORNBRISE-, - ROSENBRISE -, - LAVENDELBRISE-, - RÜGENER HEILKREIDE & HEILKRÄUTER- you will find solid soaps and shampoos, creams, deodorants, face masks, bath additives and room fragrances. The name of each collection is also a reference to the corresponding natural active ingredients in the products. Rügen healing chalk is processed into toothpaste and is an ingredient in the manufactory's face masks. Regional, in organic quality, very well tolerated, plastic-free - even in packaging, the manufactory's cosmetics are unique and of very high quality. The manufactory also produces certified organic decorative cosmetics, solid perfumes and dog shampoo. Disabled access and bicycle racks are available and there are also good parking facilities for motorists in the immediate vicinity.

The port town of Sassnitz borders the famous chalk coast to the north and the bay of Prorer Wiek to the south-east The National Park Center at the Königsstuhl offers interesting things for young and old. Children are introduced to the exhibition by two figures, Mimi and Krax. The small animal park shows native animals and has a playground. A "Children's fun" bonus booklet can be purchased from the tourist information office. This provides an overview of children's activities on the island of Rügen. Boat trips along the chalk coast are offered in the town harbor of Sassnitz, and day trips to Sweden are possible from the ferry port.
