Diving School in Plau am See OUR LOCATION “Why wander far away when the good things are so close at hand!” This saying could have come from Lake Plau, located in the beautiful Mecklenburg Lake District. Perch, eels, free-swimming sturgeon, catfish, zander, mussels, a wide variety of underwater plants, and many other fish can be observed at the right time and in the right place. The center has been located in the town of “Plau am See” for 25 years and has been managed by Ralf & Ramona Baumann since 1998. We have been collaborating for years with NDR, radio stations, and the Nature Conservation Union / Karower Meiler. The best way to reach the diving school in the town of Plau am See is by calling 01736094515, as we’re usually underwater more than we are in the shop.

Castle tower Plau am See

Castle tower Plau am See

Plau am See

The castle tower in Plau was built in 1448/49 and is still completely preserved. The 3 m thick walls and the 11 m deep dungeon, as well as the tower ascent, amaze locals and guests alike when they visit. The historic castle tower in Plau am See is the remaining part of a fortification that was built in 1449 to stop the raids of Brandenburg knights. During the Thirty Years' War, it offered protection against sieges and raids by the Swedes and Saxons. At the end of the war, the decision was made to "grind down" the fortifications, which meant dismantling them. Only the castle tower was spared this fate. Until 1985, the tower was not used and was open to everyone, which was particularly pleasing for the children of Plau, who had great adventures. In 2000, the Museum Friends of Plau am See also set themselves the task of renovating the tower and making it attractive for visitors.

Water skiing and wakeboarding have been our specialties since our founding in 1995. Our experience with students of all ages and skill levels, as well as our first-class equipment, makes our school the No. 1 choice in the Mecklenburg Lake District. In our beginner water skiing courses, you’ll be among friends and family. You decide how many of your loved ones will join you on the boat with your coach! Whether it’s just the two of you or a group of five, we’ll provide the perfect setup so you can safely learn your new sport under professional guidance with top-notch equipment. Feel the wind in your hands—learn windsurfing on Lake Plau. A healthy sport for ages 8 and up. In just 3 days, you’ll learn everything you need to maneuver safely and confidently. Modern teaching methods and materials from the VDWS, the world’s largest umbrella organization for water sports schools, ensure consistent quality in our courses (and their content). By earning the VDWS Windsurfing Basic Certificate, you’ll be able to continue windsurfing in your future leisure time, as presenting this certificate allows you to rent equipment suitable for your skill level at surf schools around the world. Once you’ve caught the “surfing bug,” you can learn advanced surfing maneuvers at any qualified surf school worldwide. The VDWS Basic Windsurfing Certificate serves as a documented progression track for this. During the peak season in July and August, our courses start twice a week, at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Saturdays. 11 hours of theory, simulation, and practice. Our courses traditionally start with a trial lesson for everyone. This means: You start a surf course together as a group at 10 a.m., but if you don’t like it, you have the option to drop out of the course after 2 hours (costing only €35). It is important to us that you or your children get to know the sport first before deciding to learn it properly as part of a course. Hours: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Services: Rentals, lessons, sale of windsurfing accessories
