The boardwalk through the Zarrentiner Kalkflachmoor is a nature trail of a special kind. On dry land, you can gain interesting insights into a sensitive habitat. At nine stations, visitors learn interesting facts about the history of the moor and its inhabitants as well as the special features of the Zarrentiner Kalkflachmoor: How deep is the limestone muck in the moor? Which beetles need dead wood to live? And what do moors have to do with climate protection? Nature lovers will receive informative answers to these and other questions. And with a bit of luck, they may even be able to observe various water birds, dragonflies and rare amphibians. The bog walkway is also suitable for wheelchair users.

The Zarrentin Moor Experience Trail begins right next to the Pahlhuus Zarrentin - an approximately 700-metre-long boardwalk through the Zarrentin limestone fen on Lake Schaalsee. The moor was created after the last ice age by the silting up of the shores of Lake Schaalsee and is one of the most valuable natural landscapes in southern Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
