Fürstenwerder Heimatstube - everyday history in the Nordwestuckermark

The Heimatstube Fürstenwerder in the Nordwestuckermark provides a lively insight into the regional history of the Uckermark. An area with 18 exhibition rooms shows what life was like around 100 years ago - from living to trades such as carpentry, roofing, shoemaking and baking. An open-air forge is also part of the ensemble and makes the exhibition particularly vivid.

Special exhibitions on everyday life in the GDR, toys and crafts

The permanent exhibition is complemented by changing special exhibitions, including topics such as household technology "Made in the GDR", historical toys and traditional food preservation. A separate exhibition is dedicated to the life and work of Andreas Kranzpiller. Anyone who wants to learn about the rural cultural history of north-east Germany - similar to the local history museums along the Baltic coast from Wismar to Greifswald - will find authentic access to the regional past here.

Guided tours and services around Fürstenwerder

In addition to museum tours, the Heimatstube also offers guided tours of the landscape and the town. Postcards, cycling and hiking maps and brochures are available on site. Tips are also provided on events, leisure activities and studio visits in the region. Visits outside regular opening hours are possible by appointment.
