Wesenberg Tourist Information Office

The renowned resort town of Wesenberg is located in the Mecklenburg Small Lakes Region, a nature destination.

In addition to unspoiled nature, there are also architectural and historical landmarks to explore. The staff at the tourist information office will be happy to help you plan and organize your stay in the region. The impressive landscapes, the biodiversity of the flora and fauna, and the cultural and historical treasures of the Mecklenburgische Kleinseenplatte enchant visitors far from the big city and the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Wesenberg is characterized by countless lakes connected by small canals. The town lies on the edge of the Deutsche Alleenstraße and serves as the southern gateway to the Müritz National Park. Whether on foot, by bike, or by raft, paddleboat, rowboat, or motorboat, you can get up close to the local flora and fauna. Wesenberg’s most iconic landmark is the castle, built in the 13th century, featuring the so-called Fangelturm. Today, it houses the tourist information office, the local history museum, and the fishing exhibition. Not far from the castle complex, the Toy Museum in Villa Pusteblume welcomes its guests. Old toys and mechanical musical instruments are lovingly collected and displayed here. Next to the historic market square, the Gothic St. Mary’s Church, built in the 14th century, also tells the story of the town. An old linden tree with a trunk circumference of 8 meters adorns the entrance to the church as a natural monument. A boulder garden and the only surviving house bridge in northern Germany—located in the Ahrensberg district—round out this varied discovery tour through the “water city.” At the Weißer See, art lovers can explore the “Künstler BEI WU” sculpture park, featuring numerous works in various artistic styles by international artists. For more information, vacation planning tips, tickets to events, assistance with finding vacation accommodations, cycling, hiking, and waterway maps, as well as tourist fishing permits and fishing licenses, please visit the Tourist Information Office at Wesenberg Castle.
