Schulkamp-Anlage Teterow - historical ensemble in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
The Schulkamp complex in Teterow is one of the most interesting historical sites in inland Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, not far from the Baltic Sea coast. The site has a remarkable history: Until well into the 19th century, there were fields and gardens here that belonged to the endowment of the Fiedler School Foundation. The Teterow pastor Felix Fiedler (1661-1705) had established the foundation, the rental income from which benefited poor pupils in the town.
From the school grounds to the House of Muses - the buildings on the Schulkamp
Most of the school buildings on Schulkamp were built by the end of the 19th century. Today, two of them house Teterow's elementary school. The former "Clock School", which is now known as the "House of Muses", is particularly worth seeing. The Teterow branch of the Rostock district music school is based here. The building also houses a theater hall and a creative workshop. The so-called "gray" school serves as a branch of the Teterow City Museum.
Pastor Fiedler House - once Teterow's first kindergarten
Also on the Schulkamp site is the Pastor Fiedler House, which was once used as the town's first kindergarten. The complex as a whole reflects Teterow's educational history and is a silent testimony to civic urban development in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern - a region that has a lot of history to offer visitors from the Baltic Sea coast to Rostock and cities such as Stralsund and Greifswald.

Bismarck Stone
📍 Teterow
Foundling recovered in the Pampower Feldmark The "Bismarckstein" is located near the center of Teterow, at the intersection of Malchiner Straße and Bahnhofstraße. It was originally found in the Pampow field and is a listed building. The front of the boulder has been polished from the ice, while parts of the back have been blasted off. It is four meters long, 2.80 m wide and has a volume of 9 cubic meters. The "Bismarckstein" - the front view is decorated with a relief of the former Imperial Chancellor - was determined to be coarse-grained granite gneiss. It is not one of the leading rocks and therefore cannot be determined in more detail. However, its size and the traces left by the glacier make this boulder worth seeing.
