Ehmkendorf Manor House

Stubbendorf · 54.0803° N, 12.5596° E
Ehmkendorf Manor House

The Ehmkendorf Manor House is the last house in the village, situated on the edge of the Recknitz Valley.

It is a wonderful retreat for families, groups, and seminars in the heart of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The newly renovated house is currently privately owned and does not offer overnight accommodations at this time. The manor house and its natural park invite you to linger. The Recknitz Valley, a beautiful glacial valley with great biodiversity, beckons for excursions—on foot, on horseback, and on the water.  Full board is available, but the fully equipped kitchen also makes cooking as a group a pleasure. We’re happy to stock the fridge with regional and homegrown products in advance. We’re also happy to prepare something for the evening of your arrival—from a classic snack platter with game salami from our own hunt to a barbecue buffet, almost anything is possible—just as you wish! All eight rooms are lovingly furnished in a minimalist style and each has a small bathroom. In addition, the group has access to the fireplace room (as a living room, conference room, or classroom), the café (as a dining room or meeting place), and the former commercial kitchen. A highlight are the regular cooking evenings with René Pieper, head chef at Pieper Catering in Dettmannsdorf. Only regional and homegrown products are used here. Depending on the weather, cooking takes place on the antique cast-iron August Speiser stove—of which there are only two others in all of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania—or on the outdoor cooking area in the park. Every other Wednesday and upon request!

Ehmkendorf Manor in Stubbendorf – on the edge of the Recknitz Valley

Ehmkendorf Manor is located at the edge of the village of Stubbendorf, where the Recknitz Valley begins. The newly renovated house, currently used privately, offers families, groups, and seminar participants a peaceful retreat in the heart of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania—not far from the Baltic Sea coast between Fischland-Darß-Zingst and Stralsund.

Eight rooms, a fireplace room, and a fully equipped kitchen

The eight rooms, lovingly furnished in a minimalist style, each have their own bathroom. The fireplace room, the café (which serves as a dining room), and a former commercial kitchen are available for shared use. Full board is available upon request, as is a stocked refrigerator with regional and homemade products—ranging from a snack platter with game salami from our own hunt to a barbecue buffet.

Cooking evenings with regional chef René Pieper

Every other Wednesday and upon request, special cooking evenings are held with René Pieper, head chef of Pieper Catering in Dettmannsdorf. Cooking is done exclusively with regional and homegrown products—depending on the weather, either on one of the rare antique August Speiser cast-iron stoves or at the outdoor cooking area in the park. There are only two other stoves of this kind left in all of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
