The exhibits were donated by residents of the community and show all kinds of everyday objects, books and clothing from earlier times. Curious home-made items, such as the egg tester or the self-made chainsaw, also bear witness to the inventiveness of the inhabitants. Outside, old farming equipment from the last century can be seen.
Heimatstube Priepert - time travel in an old village school
The Heimatstube Priepert is located in the former village school of the small village of Priepert, right on the shore of the Großer Priepertsee lake. The exhibition provides an authentic insight into the everyday life of past generations in the rural region of Mecklenburg. Objects, books and items of clothing from earlier times have been collected by residents of the community and tell of a life that is almost unimaginable today.
Curious exhibits and everyday rural culture in Priepert
The inventive objects built by the villagers are particularly worth seeing - including a self-made egg tester and a self-made chainsaw. These objects testify to the inventiveness of the inhabitants and make the collection something very special. Outside, historical farming tools from the past century complement the exhibition and give an impression of what farming in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern once looked like - similar to other local history museums along the Baltic coast, for example in the region around Stralsund or Greifswald.
