The Neustrelitz Zoo is one of the most traditional zoos in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and offers a natural habitat for around 450 animals. Anyone visiting the Baltic Sea coast with its highlights such as Rügen, Usedom or Fischland-Darß-Zingst should make a detour inland to Neustrelitz - the zoo is an authentic excursion destination for families and nature lovers alike.

The zoo impresses with its rustic atmosphere and mature grounds. The animals live in a natural environment that reflects the typical landscape of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. This sets it clearly apart from modern zoos and offers a quiet, relaxed experience away from the touristy Baltic Sea cities such as Rostock, Stralsund or Greifswald.
Accessible visit to Neustrelitz Zoo
The zoo has step-free access and is therefore also suitable for people with limited mobility. The main paths are at least 200 cm wide and mostly easy to walk on. Two designated disabled parking spaces are available and there is an accessible toilet in the ticket area. Guided tours for people with walking, visual and cognitive disabilities are also available by prior arrangement.
Travel to Neustrelitz Zoo by train and car
Nestrelitz Zoo is easily accessible by public transport. The nearest train and bus station in Neustrelitz is only around 550 meters away and is easy to walk to. If you are traveling by car, you can take the A19 or A24, from where Neustrelitz is well signposted. It is around 350 meters from the parking lot to the entrance on a flat path.
