Wiethagen Forestry and Charcoal-Burning Farm
● Wiethagen
The Wiethagen Tar Kiln, located on the southern edge of the Rostock Heath, has been in operation since 1837 and features the only historic, fully functional tar kiln.
In 1993, the Association of Friends and Supporters of the Forestry and Charcoal Burner’s Farm (Verein der Freunde und Förderer des Forst- und Köhlerhofes e.V.) took over the farm. Today, it is a popular destination for families, school groups, and tour groups in the region.
