The Peene, the "Amazon of the North", is a wild and romantic river in the middle of a huge nature reserve and flows from the Mecklenburgische Schweiz & Kummerower See Nature Park through an unspoilt moorland landscape to the Peenestrom. You can experience this nature up close with the wide range of activities offered by Abenteuer Peenetal. Our canoe station is located in Verchen on Lake Kummerow, right at the entrance to the Peene Valley River Landscape Nature Park. From here you have the opportunity to explore one of the most interesting sections of the Peene. We offer canoes for 2-4 persons as well as kayaks for 1-2 persons to discover the river individually. The rental takes place from 15.04. - 11.10. daily from 9:30 am - 6:00 pm. During this time you are welcome to take advantage of our offer and explore the Peene at your leisure. A return service is also included in our package deals, which we also offer for your private canoe trips lasting several days. Our range of experiences also includes entertaining guided tours in a solar boat as well as special tours such as sunrise trips or midsummer paddling. Our top highlights include the beaver tour / Peene safari in a solar boat (an evening nature experience trip on the river) and the day paddle tour from Verchen to the Hanseatic town of Demmin through the upper Peene valley with return service. The wonderful landscape of this vacation region with its numerous excursion destinations can be enjoyed not only by canoe and solar boat, but also by bike or on foot. Peene Valley Safari

Peene Valley Safari

Verchen

A trip on the solar catamaran at sunset opens up a whole new perspective on the Peene River - quiet, environmentally friendly and unforgettable. The silent safari on the water opens up the natural paradise of the so-called "Amazon of the North" in an impressive way. The Peene Valley Safari offers a 2.5 to 3-hour trip through one of the last untouched river landscapes in Europe. In small groups - a maximum of nine people - an experienced skipper takes you on individual, guided tours through the side arms of the Peene River. The focus is on slowing down and observing nature. The solar catamaran glides gently through quiet waterways, past dense reed beds and centuries-old trees. With a little luck, beavers, otters, herons or even a white-tailed eagle can be seen in their natural habitat. The "Flusslandschaft Peenetal" nature park unfolds in all its diversity and tranquillity on this leisurely trip. The tours can be individually designed and offer both retreat and inspiration - ideal for anyone who appreciates sustainable nature experiences and is looking for a special approach to the landscape. An experience that will stay with you for a long time and change your perspective on northern Germany's river nature.
