Langsdorf quarry pond
📍 Langsdorf
Swimming in the quarry pond directly at the Buchholz service area on a very well-kept site with seating, play areas and a snack bar.
In the earliest times, people extracted peat here, which they hauled along the banks of the Prahm Canal to Bad Sülze. Today, valuable gravel is mined around Langsdorf and partly processed on site. The tourist development of the lakes created by gravel extraction is particularly interesting. A bathing area has been created at a former quarry pond, which is particularly suitable for families with children. A well-maintained beach with an adjacent lawn with some seating and a volleyball court. The adjacent service area offers drinks and snacks from a food truck. The owner charges a fee of one euro for the maintenance of the grounds.
