The local history museum is located right next to the visitor center and traces the history of the Baltic Sea resort. The lovingly furnished local history museum focuses primarily on the development of the spa industry in Fulgen, Arendsee, and Brunshaupten—the towns from which the Baltic Sea resort of Kühlungsborn was founded on April 1, 1938. Also on display are a furnished kitchen, where great-grandmother used to cook, as well as the bedroom and living room, which contain numerous everyday objects from the Roaring Twenties. The GDR era is also documented through numerous artifacts. Opening hours of the local history room: Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Closed on holidays. The reading room is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

With a length of 13 meters and a width of 7 meters, it offers considerably more space, comfort and possibilities than the usual ocean-going yachts. You can have interesting conversations with fellow sailors in a relaxed atmosphere, chill out with a glass of sparkling wine or champagne on the large sun nets, or use the spacious catamaran as an exclusive location for special occasions! There are a total of four cabins with eight berths and two bathrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped. You can choose between a 2-hour sailing trip, where you can enjoy the unique scenery of Kühlungsborn and Heiligendamm, or an exclusive trip. More than 100 years ago, an architect designed the concert garden in such a way that the rows of spectators, the circular square and the area surrounding the eight-sided, reed-covered columned pavilion (now the town library) were each combined as separate areas to form a unified overall complex. In addition to the numerous events for all ages and tastes that take place throughout the year, the concert garden is also an excellent place to take a break from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the sun on one of the many benches. The pier is located in Kühlungsborn Ost, as an extension of Strandstraße, which is a popular shopping street for vacationers and locals. The Kühlungsborn pier was officially opened on October 3, 1991 in the presence of over 3,000 people. It is the first pier in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to be completed after reunification. With a length of 240 meters, the entire seaside of Kühlungsborn and the surrounding area can be seen, making it one of the most popular sights in the Baltic seaside resort. The pier is also a popular spot for anglers.
St. Johannis Church in Kühlungsborn

St. Johannis Church in Kühlungsborn – Mecklenburg’s first “cycle path church” The fieldstone church was built in 1220 by the nuns of Parchow. Its distinctive feature is the wooden bell tower (in its current form dating from 1680), which has stood there since before 1500. Around 1400, the church was expanded to include the Gothic choir and vaulted ceiling. The triumphal cross group and the Madonna figure date from around 1400. Local families immortalized themselves in the 42 Baroque stained-glass windows in the choir around 1660. In 1963, the EULE company (Bautzen) built a new organ for this church (11 sounding stops on two manuals). Following extensive renovation (2011/2012), the church received a new altar table, a lectern, and an altar cross made of high-quality acrylic glass. With its simple form and subdued color scheme, the altar allows the restored Baroque figures in the choir area to stand out more prominently. The triumphal crucifix group and the crowned Madonna also appear in a restored version. The organ was moved from the west gallery to the south gallery, allowing for a rich, expansive sound.
