Wolin Harbor and City Pier

This quiet harbor is located on the Dievenow, the eastern strait between the lagoon and the Baltic Sea.

Even though this harbor on the Haff is somewhat off the beaten path, it’s well worth a visit. The harbor basin offers space for about 30 yachts—none too large—at solidly built docks and features electricity and water connections. A restroom facility is also located nearby. Two approaches lead from the lagoon to the harbor: the southern approach has a draft of about 2.5 m, and the northern approach has a draft of only up to 2 m. Those coming from the opposite direction—from the Baltic Sea via Dziwnow—must navigate four bridges, only two of which can be opened: the bascule bridge in Dziwnow and the swing bridge in Wolin. The other two bridges in Wolin—the railroad bridge and the new road bridge—are fixed, but they have a clearance height of 12 m at average water level. You can also moor your boat alongside the city pier, which consists of several hundred meters of concrete pier in front of a green meadow.

Wolin Harbor on the Dievenow – a quiet mooring spot in the Szczecin Lagoon

The Wolin Harbor and the town pier are located on the Dievenow, the eastern strait between the Szczecin Lagoon and the Baltic Sea. The harbor basin offers space for about 30 yachts at solidly built piers with electricity and water connections. A restroom facility is located not far from the harbor. If you’re looking for a quiet, somewhat secluded mooring spot, you’ll find a reliable option here—similar to the smaller harbors along the German Baltic Sea coast between Greifswald and Usedom.

Entrance to Wolin Harbor – Depths and Bridges

Two approaches lead to the harbor from the lagoon: the southern one allows a draft of about 2.5 m, while the northern one allows only up to 2 m. Those arriving from the Baltic Sea via Dziwnow must pass under four bridges. Two of these are movable: the bascule bridge in Dziwnow and the swing bridge in Wolin. The railroad bridge and the new road bridge in Wolin are fixed structures, but they have a clearance height of 12 m at medium water level.

Mooring at the Wolin City Pier

In addition to the harbor basin, the Wolin City Pier offers the option of mooring the boat alongside. Several hundred meters of concrete pier in front of a green meadow are available for this purpose. The combination of the harbor and the city pier makes Wolin an interesting stopover on a cruising trip along the southern Baltic Sea—for example, on the way from Rügen or Stralsund toward the Szczecin Lagoon.
