Dutch Windmill in Wolin

Built in 1850, the windmill has a circular floor plan and is a distinctive landmark on the map of Wolin. It is currently closed to visitors. The Dutch Windmill was built in 1850. The building has three stories and is constructed on a circular floor plan. The building and its surroundings are listed in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship’s register of historic monuments. The Dutch windmill is a must-see when visiting Wolin. It is a distinctive Wolin landmark, familiar from postcards. The windmill and its picturesque surroundings form a scene worth immortalizing. The magnificent building can be admired from the outside. The interior of the building is not open to the public, but sometimes you can see it thanks to the kindness of the friendly host. A similar structure can be found in the village of Sułomino (Soldemin), located about 4 km to the northeast. The windmill in Wolin is one of the geocaching locations.
Wolin Harbor and City Pier

This quiet harbor is located on the Dievenow, the eastern strait between the lagoon and the Baltic Sea. Even though this harbor on the Haff is somewhat off the beaten path, it’s well worth a visit. The harbor basin offers space for about 30 yachts—none too large—at solidly built docks and features electricity and water connections. A restroom facility is also located nearby. Two approaches lead from the lagoon to the harbor: the southern approach has a draft of about 2.5 m, and the northern approach has a draft of only up to 2 m. Those coming from the opposite direction—from the Baltic Sea via Dziwnow—must navigate four bridges, only two of which can be opened: the bascule bridge in Dziwnow and the swing bridge in Wolin. The other two bridges in Wolin—the railroad bridge and the new road bridge—are fixed, but they have a clearance height of 12 m at average water level. You can also moor your boat alongside the city pier, which consists of several hundred meters of concrete pier in front of a green meadow.
