Built in the 13th century, the town gate was rebuilt after a major fire (1702) with some structural changes. The gate owes its name to a watermill that was located in the immediate vicinity until the 19th century.

A religious gem is St. Thomas Church in Tribsees, which was built around 1320 in the Gothic style and today dominates the townscape. Fires and various religious movements shaped both its interior and exterior. A Neo-Gothic renovation followed later. In 1702, the church burned down. Only the carved mill altar, a sculptural representation of a Eucharistic mill from the second quarter of the 15th century, could be saved. Today, it is the most valuable interior feature. The mill was a very popular motif among the Cistercians, who exercised patronage over this church from the Neuenkamp Monastery. When open, the altar measures 5.50 meters in width and 2.12 meters in height. In addition to this unique piece, St. Thomas Church houses the Lübeck pulpit from 1577, a Baroque crucifixion group from 1710, and a Buchholz organ from 1831, which was restored in 1996. Visitors may climb the church tower after registering at the parish office.
