In GDR times, Teterow was a stronghold of tennis in the district of Neubrandenburg. The junior section produced many district champions and even a GDR champion. The current club was founded in 1998. In 2000, the facility was extended to three courts and a modern clubhouse was built. The Teterow tennis facility looks back on a remarkably long tradition. A tennis club was founded in Teterow as early as 1920, making the town one of the early strongholds of this sport in the region. During the GDR era, Teterow developed into an important tennis center in the district of Neubrandenburg, producing many district champions and even a GDR champion.

The current club was founded in 1998. In 2000, the facility was expanded to three courts and equipped with a modern clubhouse. The facility is located in the heart of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, not far from the Baltic Sea coast with well-known destinations such as Rostock, Fischland-Darß-Zingst and the Mecklenburg Lake District.
