The building was constructed in 1760 as a school. Since 1975, exhibits on the history of the city and the Huguenots have been on display here. One rare item is an ornate clock made of straw. Visitors can also admire two richly decorated tiled stoves from Strasburg potteries dating back to the Wilhelminian era. There are two to three special exhibitions each year, including one on the life and career of boxing legend Max Schmeling, who was born in Klein Luckow, not far from Strasburg.
