At Wildtierland Klepelshagen, visitors can marvel at the rich diversity of local flora and fauna without any fences or enclosures. In this area spanning more than 1,500 hectares, animal lovers can keep an eye out for red deer, roe deer, sparrowhawks, or storks; they can stroll right past badgers and foxes as they explore the landscape and discover the “Wildtierland” on special themed trails either on their own or during guided hikes. The Information Center, the “Message from the Wild Animals,” welcomes visitors to explore the exhibits, attend a lecture, or enjoy a delicious snack.

TI’s office is located in the museum building and is open Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays (April–October) from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.; outside these hours, visits are by appointment only. The building was constructed in 1760 as a school. Since 1975, exhibits on the history of the city and the Huguenots have been on display here. One rare item is an ornate clock made of straw. Visitors can also admire two richly decorated tiled stoves from Strasburg potteries dating back to the Wilhelminian era. There are two to three special exhibitions each year, including one on the life and career of boxing legend Max Schmeling, who was born in Klein Luckow, not far from Strasburg.
