The children's and youth sailing yacht "Greif von Ueckermünde" was put into service at the beginning of the 1960s as the pioneer sailing ship "Immer bereit" and has been available for maritime children's and youth work ever since. "Always ready" was the greeting of the pioneers, which always followed "Be ready". Since 1993, the two-master has been part of the Center for Experiential Education and Environmental Education in Ueckermünde, which is also its home port. From May to October, the youth sailing yacht sails with numerous groups from all over Germany on the Szczecin Lagoon, the Bodden waters and the Baltic Sea. Whether it's setting sails or navigating, scrubbing the deck or steering, you can and should get involved in everything, as the aim is to find your own way back to your home port on the last day of the trip. The crew will be instructed by two volunteer skippers in all the procedures on board. Where the journey goes is determined by the crew's ability, the length of the journey and, of course, the wind/weather, as the engine should be used as little as possible. The children's and youth sailing yacht "Greif von Ueckermünde" is a real two-master with history - and above all with a guarantee of participation. The ship has been available for maritime youth work since the early 1960s, when it was still known as "Immer bereit". Today, it is moored in its home port of Ueckermünde and is part of the Center for Experiential Education and Environmental Education - firmly anchored in the coastal region of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Sailing on the Szczecin Lagoon, Bodden and Baltic Sea - trips for groups
From May to October, the youth sailing yacht sails with groups from all over Germany on the Szczecin Lagoon, the Bodden waters and the Baltic Sea. Whether setting sails, navigating, scrubbing the deck or steering - everyone can and should lend a hand on board. Two volunteer skippers instruct the crew in all the moves. The aim is to find their own way home on the last day of the trip. Where the journey leads is determined by the skills of the crew, the duration of the trip and, of course, the wind - because the engine is kept out of the way as much as possible.

Whether it's a day trip or a multi-day sailing tour along the coast of Western Pomerania - the possibilities are endless. Overnight stays are either in a harbor or, in calm weather, at anchor in a sheltered body of water, with swimming fun included. Groups from all over Germany take advantage of the offer to gain real sailing experience together - far away from everyday life, close to the water.
