Whether it’s just the two of you or a group of five, we’ll provide the perfect setup so you can safely learn your new sport under professional guidance with top-notch equipment. Feel the wind in your hands—learn windsurfing on Lake Plau. A healthy sport for ages 8 and up. In just 3 days, you’ll learn everything you need to maneuver safely and confidently. Modern teaching methods and materials from the VDWS, the world’s largest umbrella organization for water sports schools, ensure consistent quality in our courses (and their content). By earning the VDWS Windsurfing Basic Certificate, you’ll be able to continue windsurfing in your future leisure time, as presenting this certificate allows you to rent equipment suitable for your skill level at surf schools around the world. Once you’ve caught the “surfing bug,” you can learn advanced surfing maneuvers at any qualified surf school worldwide. The VDWS Basic Windsurfing Certificate serves as a documented progression track for this. During the peak season in July and August, our courses start twice a week, at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Saturdays. 11 hours of theory, simulation, and practice. Our courses traditionally start with a trial lesson for everyone. This means: You start a surf course together as a group at 10 a.m., but if you don’t like it, you have the option to drop out of the course after 2 hours (costing only €35). It is important to us that you or your children get to know the sport first before deciding to learn it properly as part of a course. Windsurfing is available on Lake Plau for ages 8 and up. In a three-day course, participants learn all the basic maneuvers using modern teaching methods from the VDWS—the world’s largest umbrella organization for water sports schools. With the VDWS Basic Windsurfing Certificate, graduates can then rent equipment and take advanced courses at surf schools worldwide. You can get started with a two-hour trial lesson at any time—and if you decide not to continue afterward, you’ll only pay a reduced fee.

The Plötzenhöhe lido is a Eu-registered bathing area on Lake Plau, which is important for tourism and is an intensively managed bathing area. Great fun and a sensory experience in the great outdoors for young and old await you in our barefoot park. In addition to the pleasure of being out in the fresh air, there is the sensory experience of walking barefoot on a wide variety of surfaces, such as sand, gravel, mud, glass, moorland and many others. On this barefoot path for the senses, you will also learn lots of interesting facts about the animals and plants that surround you. All in all, it is a stimulating relaxation for the feet, an experience for the senses and an optimal strengthening of the immune system, combined with "a bit of natural history."
