In 2023, the footbridge was completely renovated: new piles were driven into the ground and new planks were laid.

If you’re traveling by water, look for a narrow branch canal as soon as the Pantlitz church tower comes into view. From land, the rest area can be reached via a dirt road behind Slawenburg—opposite the fire station, turn right onto the path leading to the church. Its location near the Baltic Sea coast, between Fischland-Darß-Zingst and the region around Stralsund and Greifswald, makes Pantlitz a peaceful stopover on extended tours through the Recknitz Lowlands.
