Niekrenz Manor House
The Niekrenz manor house was once owned by Karl von Levetzow.
The manor house is a two-story plaster-faced building. The entrance area on the courtyard side features a balcony supported by columns. The estate was owned by Karl von Levetzow in the early 19th century. In 1878, Heinrich August Stever acquired the estate, and it was still owned by the Stever family in 1924. During the GDR era, it was used for municipal purposes. It has been privately owned since 1999 and has been renovated.
Niekrenz Manor House – A Neoclassical Plaster-Faced Building in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania
The Niekrenz Manor House is one of the most striking manor houses in the inland region of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, not far from the Baltic Sea coast. The two-story stucco building impresses with its grand entrance on the courtyard side: a colonnaded portico gives the building its characteristic Neoclassical appearance. To this day, such estate complexes shape the character of Mecklenburg’s cultural landscape between Rostock, Stralsund, and Greifswald.
From Karl von Levetzow to the Stever Family – History of the Niekrenz Estate
In the early 19th century, the estate was owned by Karl von Levetzow. In 1878, Heinrich August Stever acquired the property, which remained in the family’s possession as late as 1924. During the GDR era, the manor house served municipal purposes. Since 1999, it has been privately owned and has undergone extensive renovation—a welcome example of the preservation of historic manor houses in the region.
