The Kühlungsborn pier was officially opened on October 3, 1991 in the presence of over 3,000 people. It is the first pier in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to be completed after reunification. With a length of 240 meters, the entire seaside of Kühlungsborn and the surrounding area can be seen, making it one of the most popular sights in the Baltic seaside resort. The pier is also a popular spot for anglers.

The Kühlungsborn pier is one of the most famous sights on the German Baltic Sea coast. On October 3, 1991 - the Day of German Unity - it was ceremoniously opened in the presence of over 3,000 people. This made it the first pier in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to be completed after reunification - a symbolic date for the entire Baltic seaside resort.
