We look forward to seeing you! Café Marie and the associated chocolaterie are located in the former Ratskeller in Boizenburg and are run by Lebenshilfewerk Hagenow. Café Marie is not only an attractive meeting place on the historic market square, but also a new field of work for ten people with disabilities. We are a partner of the UNESCO Elbe River Landscape Biosphere Reserve and are actively committed to sustainable regional development in the biosphere region! Café Marie invites you to relax, meet friends and enjoy yourself. Here you can watch the friendly team baking, making the finest chocolate products or preparing delicious savory snacks. The team is led by master confectioner Tanja Riekhoff and chef Dörte Schröder. And if you would like to make your own chocolate temptations, we will be happy to show you how in one of our manufacturing workshops.
Chocolaterie and Café Marie Boizenburg - indulgence in the historic Ratskeller
In the heart of Boizenburg, right on the historic market square, you will find Café Marie and its adjoining chocolaterie. Housed in the former Ratskeller, the café is run by Lebenshilfewerk Hagenow and not only offers delicious specialties, but also a meaningful job for ten people with disabilities. Anyone passing through Boizenburg on their way from the Mecklenburg Baltic coast to the Elbe region should definitely take a break here.
Homemade chocolate, organic coffee and hearty snacks
Under the direction of master confectioner Tanja Riekhoff and chef Dörte Schröder, fresh delicacies are created daily at Café Marie: Organic and fair trade coffee roasted in-house, exquisite organic teas, homemade cakes and handmade chocolates. Visitors can look over the shoulders of the friendly team as they bake, make chocolate and prepare hearty snacks.
Manufacturing workshops and commitment to the Elbe biosphere region
If you want to get hands-on, you can take part in one of the manufacturing workshops on offer and learn how fine chocolate products are made. Café Marie is also a partner of the UNESCO Elbe River Landscape Biosphere Reserve and is actively involved in sustainable regional development - an approach that is also considered a model on the Baltic coast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, for example in Wismar or Schwerin.

Have fun on our spacious farm in a quiet village location with a large garden. Everyone will find their place - at the natural pond - on the playground - or on the horse pasture. You can relax in cozy and individually furnished vacation apartments for 2 to 10 people. The Birkenhof is an ideal starting point for cycling and hiking tours in the Schaalsee biosphere reserve.
