Baab Heath
The Baaber Heide - a natural oasis rich in berries and mushrooms with beautiful hiking trails.
In the north of the Mönchgut peninsula stretches the idyllic Baaber Heide - a fascinating lowland formed by a natural spit. This unique landscape stretches from Baabe to the gentle foothills of a mountain range between Göhren and Having and borders directly on the Baltic Sea in the east.
With its tranquillity and unspoilt nature, the Baabe Heath invites nature lovers and hikers in particular to leave everyday life behind.
Nature shows its most beautiful side here at any time of year: In the fall, mushrooms lure visitors into the woods, while juicy blueberries can be discovered along the hiking trails in the spring. The Baaber Heide was reforested as early as the middle of the 19th century, and today the Mönchgut Forest covers large parts of this impressive landscape.
